No PTR for 1.4.3 ??
|
Did I miss the PTR phase of 1.4.3? cause i was thinking 6 range
phoenix was a pretty big thing to be testing.... yea snipes worth testing more extensively but phoenix is a less a mathematical and more of a control / micro / situational issue. My only point, why wasn't 1.4.3 publicly tested? (unless I totally missed the testing, I was checking in didn't see any talk of the PTR being up.) |

I recall it was up for about 3-5 days or something.. Besides the patch has already gone live. O.o;
I didn't know that till I loaded the regular server up >.<; |
that mean PTR is not working or doing any good to patches. Which makes sense, since people who are playing in the PTR are mostly below master, balance doesn't affect them that much. |

I think it has more to do with Blizzard's approach to balancing than a race being OP. Look at what they did to the Reaper. A better solution would have been to remove the building attack, reduce attack range to 4, have it build in 36 seconds, and increase the cost of Nitro Packs to 100/100. Instead we had Nitro Packs require a Factory and an insane 45 second build time. Now the unit is used for spot scouting instead of harassment, which is what they intended the unit to be used for.

I just randomly came across the thread and wanna chip in, I left the game 2 months after release because of how Blizzard is handling balancing. Me and 3 of my friends stopped playing because the game is never fair to one or two races pending the current patch.
I just reinstalled SC2 for the first time in a year just to play the campaign and happened to read the patch logs, 1.4.2 the Protoss had all their research made cheaper and the Terrans got nerfed in the balance section. 1.4.3 is here and again Protoss got a buff and Terrans got a nerf. From a race-neutral standpoint from not playing around for a year, this just shows Blizzard is not handling balance proper. They just focus on making one race good at a time while making one or both of the others worse. |
