Mt "Better" argument

This article is a copy of what I wrote to make a point about how I feel about ht word "Better" when it comes to technology. Enjoy, its a funny read.In the world of technology, theres a term that gets used a lot, “better”. When it comes down to the word, it’s used, in many cases, by fanboys who are trying to sell you on their favorite brand. But what can this term, truly mean if it feels like everyone is using it to determine what product to buy and use? Well first lets break down what they, the consumers, are trying to prove as a point. These fan boys come in with both the pro’s and con’s of a product and try to out weigh the con’s by over exaggerating the pro’s. For instance, lets use cell phones seeing how major companies like Apple and Google are the biggest software providers of them. Lets start with Apple, not because I favor them but for organization purposes, A does start before G. Just saying. Anyways, Apple’s iPhone is one of the largest majority of phones that not only people have, but when they see other phones, they automatically compare their phone to the iPhone. Now I don’t know if it’s their marketing, but lets see why people like it so much. Well one being its Apple. Yes the brand does make one want to buy a specific brand and no others, aka fan boys, but the device itself truly sells itself. I talk of course of the infamous, Apple’s magic touch. But what is it that people hate about the phone. Well, the brand mostly. Believe it or not just as there are the greaters, there are the haters. Most of the fan boys will attack the iPhone purely on the fact that its Apple. In the eyes of certain people, there is nothing that the iPhone can do right, and if it does a certain act/function, its presumed to be a copy artist and unoriginal. So what does Google bring to the table? Well, they have android. Their basic functions, are as all cell phones do, have the same functions. But it’s not completely the phone that sells, its what the OS does, to keep the major appeal. When you use an android phone, you feel like its a familiar device. A pinch and zoom here, with a few slide to unlocks. Oh right, Apple’s iPhone does the same thing. So what does android do, that makes it so awesome? Well its not the apps, or the features of the OS, but cause it comes on not just one, but many and upon many phones. This gives the illusion that the OS is better, because of the “open source code that android is built upon”. Many companies throw in their own software and other features that are phone specific. But Apple can’t do this, cause then it would be wrong. So through all that rambling, what does this have to do with the main point of this article of defining the word better. Well look at how I was saying those things. I was countering my point with a counter point, to make another point with another counter point. I didn’t lose you now did I? The whole point here is to look at what people are saying, and inject myself into the product, and see how well it fits me. Believe it or not, when I buy something, I make sure not only I will use the product, but I make sure that the product fits me. I wouldn’t buy !@#$%^s seeing how I’m a male. But there are guys out there that will buy -*!@#$s for themselves. The whole point of buying a product, is because I have a use/need for it. Buying something without a purpose, is like buying a case of bullets when you don’t even own a gun. And yes this does determine what the word truly means, because only I would know what is better, because I can get what I need done, and have all my needs/wants fulfilled, by using the product I bought. If you ever buy anything that is purely off of peer pressure, you aren’t helping the cause, you are just buying bullets for that gun you don’t own. |

no offense, but this seems like common sense/knowledge. Has someone been trying to sell you one of these phones by going on and on about how one is better than the other?
