StarCraft II freezes at loading screen

Hello, as of recently (last month or two) when I boot up starcraft it gets stuck at the loading the screen, the one with Jim Raynor looking at me. If it is in windowed mode, I can force quit it, but if I am in fullscreen I need to restart my computer. Once I restart my computer it works fine, but I have to do this every time I want to play Starcraft.

Do you know how I can fix this?

Can you post your specs for your Mac?

Obtaining System Information
    1. Hold the 'Option' Key and choose System Profiler/Information from the Apple Menu.

    2. Copy the information from the following sections:
  • Hardware (remove the Serial Number line)
  • Graphics/Displays
  • Software (remove the Computer Name and User Name lines)

Also, try repairing the folder permissions and run the repair tool and see if it helps.

Resetting permissions on the Starcraft II folder
    1. Select the Starcraft II folder
    2. Press Command + I
    3. In the Info box, go to the Sharing & Permissions section and click on the lock and unlock it, entering your admin password when prompted.
    4. Make sure you have Read & Write permissions
    5. Click on the Burst icon (cog wheel) and select Apply to enclosed items

Then run a repair from the repair tool located in /Applications/Starcraft II/Support.

Were you able to try what I suggested in the first post?

Also, if your restart your Mac and then load the game, does it freeze still?

I did and nothing has worked yet. If I restart, it has worked every time but once. Most of the time it requires a restart and most of the time that works.

This may indicate some underlying issues on your Mac. Rebooting frees up all the resources that were being used and makes it load quick.

Try doing some basic maintenance and see if this helps.

1. Repair Disk Permissions and Repair Disk
2. Try a Combo Update. You will need to download and install the 10.6.8 combo update to reinstall all drivers and previous updates.
3. Run an extended Apple Hardware Test (AHT) and see if there are any issues it detects.

No, this is clearly an issue with your software. I have this same crash on my Mac Pro with Mavericks. This is a bug that needs to be found and squashed.

And yeah, I'm having this problem two long years after this thread was started. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I'm having the same issue. I'm using a mid-2014 Macbook Pro 15" and it's happened before, so I had to delete it and reinstall it. But it comes back every now and then and every time I end up uninstalling/reinstalling StarCraft2 which is pretty annoying...

same issue on my mid 2010 mac.
OSX updated to latest.

I have not had issues until recent versions of sc2, game freezes at custom game map loading screen and score screen. I am on the latest sc2 which claims to have fixed loading screen issue as well.
