Hey, after some 15-20 minutes of playing, my monitor turns black, and I get the HDMI Power Saving Mode thing. I only get this error in Starcraft 2.

After the monitor turns off, I can still hear what happens but I see nothing. I HAVE to turn my whole computer off with the power button.

I have a LG monitor Flatron W2353V.

I have no idea what makes this but it's annoying, I play ladder and I get the HDMi power saving mode thing and I have to close my PC and I get a loss.

Please help.

Hey ePSequence,

Let's check out the resolutions for StarCraft II and your desktop.

Can you post some computer information from the Direct X Diagnostic Tool (dxdiag)?

  • Hit the Windows key, and type:
    • dxdiag
  • Hit Enter or OK

Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and Save a DxDiag text file.
Copy and paste everything, except for the last section:

After you paste everything into a post, highlight everything, and hit the "pre" button (It says "Code Blocks" when you hover your mouse over it).

Then let's take a look at the Variables.txt file from C:\Users\<username>\Documents\StarCraft II

yes hello mine does the same thing. It has never done this to me before until Friday, 6/1/12 after not playing it since october. i installed all the updates and even uninstalled the game and re installed it. my monitor shuts down and wont turn back on. Please help.

It came back(the problem).

But I solved it! The problem was that my computer had too much dust in the graphics card. The temperature was 82 degrees celsius while running the game. I cleaned my video card from dust and now it works well. You should try it!
