They designed the campaign differently than the other modes of play. As such, you won't be seeing half of the terran units from the campaign in multiplayer, or custom games against AI. Sorry.

If they ever include those units it will be in the next 2 expansions (which has the Zerg and Protoss single player campaigns) and not DLC.
If you could build those units you would hear even more "Terrans are OP!!!" comments than we already do. Although I have had several games where a Hercules or Science Vessel would come in handy. |

Some additional units aren't available in the multiplayer game for strategy and balance reasons, but were included in the single player as things like competitive gaming and balance don't apply to it.
It's like... well this is potentially a nerdier analogy, but the fact that some TCG cards aren't allowed in tournament play. You can play your crazy decks at home, but go to a tournament where there are rankings and ladders involved and there are rules on what can be used. Ugh. I'm disappointed in myself for that one... |

Bashiok is there any chance you can comment on the threads regarding chatrooms or clans or AT vs RT games or custom game lists? Also do you have any information what other services besides premium maps and paid name changes will be available with Battle.net marketplace? Thanks! :)

Instead of thinkin about how your single/multiplayer experience is lacking that which you had available in the campaign... Think of it as the campaign having extra stuff for your enjoyment... Things that you should be grateful for, bcz you could have potentially not had access to them at all.

Some additional units that were removed from the multiplayer game for strategy and balance reasons were included in the single player. Those dang magic the gathering cards with 99 attack and 99 defense. http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=9844&type=card |

why would you ever need firebats? I never really did find a use for firebats in SC1 . I would just go for marines and medics .. the huge dropship would be hilarious to see. Now that's an interesting thought . I wonder how people would use it in combat . If it could heal like a medivac but heal 5 different units at the same time , think of the OP-ness . And OP , think about it . They removed those units from the rest of the game for balance issues , transforming it into something different (ex , the goliath = the thor) , or combining 2 units to make a new one (ex , firebat + vulture = hellion) . And think about the science vessels . 20 science vessels + 5 bcs = indestructible . |

I understand how it may seem a little unfair now, and i agree it would make the Terrans a power house. But why take out the medics. they have always been at the core of terran Infantry. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy the game. But why take those things out in singal player mode for me to goof around with at home. Why not take that army i built up with Raynor and have a little free time fun with it (<- that sounds way inappropiate). And i think the creators have a little up there sleeves then just " There to buff, lets take this away, and this, and this .... and this too. There now it will be fair." Hell you guys could come up with more for the Zerg and Protoss. lets see in the next two please.
It just seems dumb that i can't use all the things I worked hard to get in the campaign against more then a few Zerg missions |

I think we're all disappointed with Blizzard for not keeping some of these key units... |
