Still scratching my head over Kerrigan

Brood Wars: Queen !@#$% of the universe, essentially an infested human replacement for the Overmind.
Wings of Liberty: Still at it, but now she hears voices from the Xel'Naga. End of Wings of Liberty: "Don't give up Jim." So apparently she's got some kind of infestation-induced multiple personality disorder. Xel'naga artifact "cleanses" her (still got her dreadlocks though) and apparently all is well, right? Heart of the Swarm: No such luck, she still controls the zerg and her split personalities gets a little muddied. In the words of my favorite philosopher, what the crap? |

Join the club.
However, the writers have hinted that Kerrigan's desinfestation may have been a mere side-effect. |

I think one of the problems I'm having with Heart of the Swarm from what Metzen has said is that it seems redoing Brood War's main theme: Kerrigan has her freedom now so what is she going to do with it?
I think the thing that made her interesting in Brood War was the fact she was so human. You never got the impression that she was someone under the tight leash of the Overmind like in Starcraft 1, she was the witty, bantery Kerrigan we saw in the Terran campaign. But she was thrusted into a position of near absolute power in a universe that had scorned her all her life, and she wanted those who had wronged her to suffer. It was a simple and clean story that made her interesting. It's also why I'm not buying the whole "Kerrigan's been under the control all her life" thing that they're now saying about her now. I'm sort of hoping the story sticks with the direction the trailer seems to show; that Kerrigan has been free since the death of the Overmind and the artifact has just jumbled things up for her. Still, that doesn't seem to be happening. |

In Starcraft 1, she was the witty, bantery Kerrigan we saw in the Terran campaign. But she was thrusted into a position of near absolute power in a universe that had scorned her all her life, and she wanted those who had wronged her to suffer. If that was the case, then Brood War really didn't do a good job at depicting it, as Kerrigan ended up willingly hurting pretty much everyone, including Raynor, Fenix and Zeratul. Also, the only times she acted and sounded like her old Terran self was while she was allied with the Protoss: the rest of the time, she was all pompous and sardonic, ergo the complete opposite of her old humble and subordinate self. I think Metzen meant to say that Kerrigan now has her mind back, i.e. no Arcturus to boss her around and no Zerg instinct twisting her mind and turning her into a mass-murdering psychopath. |

Part of what throws me off so much is how radically her personality changes. It's understandable, if not expected, to change significantly when you get infested. Hence the change from the soldier Kerrigan to the devious, murderous smart-!@# Kerrigan. But then she loses that personality and just becomes the BBEG of the dungeon for some unexplained reason. Then the split personality card comes into play, but not really cause the change was only physical. I still can't figure out where they're going with her, and I'm running out of rum trying to see if alcohol makes sense of it.

Brood Wars: Queen !@#$% of the universe, essentially an infested human replacement for the Overmind. In my "new take" thread regarding Kerrigan, I and several others have been puzzling over this very question. http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/5594211509 We've cobbled together a pretty serviceable theory, if you want to take a look. |

Besides the fact she no longer has her fancy Psi Blast and Wings, is on the way back to her Evilness, is in conflict with herself as usual, has a ghost suit and rifle, still controls Zerg, completely SMACKED Raynor by running off to the Zerg and has Zergy Dreadlock Tendril Hair(ZDTH), What's wrong with her? *Sarcasm* Still, seems like everyone but her was overall Intelligent in SC1 and went vice versa in BW lol(Yeah, Yeah I know the reasons).

Here's my take. Sarah Kerrigan is a combination of what she was before she was infested and what the Queen of Blades was. Sarah Kerrigan is a warrior, a hero and a leader. She also happens to be the only person that has experience leading the Zerg. If the Hybrids got control of the Zerg they would be unstoppable. Sarah Kerrigan is going to prevent that from happening.

I can't stand kerrigan's model. In brood war she literally scared me. But now she just looks like some weird naked alien.
