It's been a while but let's see what I can remember;

The first two bases are actually pretty easy; just land the Vikings on the ledge adjacent to the Nexus and waste it. The starter Vikings can take care of the first one. The second one takes a few more, maybe 10 or 12.

You need a pretty substantial force of Vikings to take down the last base. Try to draw the air units away and destroy them separately. Land behind the mineral line to take out the Nexus.

You'll probably need a few tries to figure out when you can attack a base and when you need to defend an outpost. It's not the toughest mission, but it is challenging.

I did this one with simply Viking/Marine/Medic. Vikings are used to take out Colossus and Warp Prisms at the enemy bases and then leave it to the Marines to clean up, so the Vikings have time to go home for repairs or handle the sidequest Protoss fleet attacks or start on the next base. The only base that takes a little more attention is the third one, there's a Templar there and you'll need to dodge out of at least one psi storm.

The most important thing is to take care of your Vikings throughout the mission. There's a critical mass of Vikings that you'll need to achieve in order to take down the Mothership at the end, and you won't have enough time to build back up to it if you squander too many earlier.

When you do confront the Mothership, you'll need to split your Vikings into multiple groups and flank it, because it will drop a vortex and that will break your critical mass if it catches too much.

Easiest way to do it = do Supernova before u attempt this so you get access to banshees.

the first 2 bases you can just roll with straight Vikings on the high ground, the last base has archons and zealots on top of Carriers/Voids so you'll need Banshees to kill off the stray ground forces and the Nexus

Zai is usually pretty good, but his Safe Haven is pretty lame. At least, he wasted a TON of time and several Vikings in that clueless attack on the first Nexus. I couldn't watch the whole thing.

Take out the Phoenixes and the Prisms, land on the ledge, and take the Nexus out. The three starter Vikings can do that right away.

Maybe I should make a video of this, if I can remember how.

The first attack can probably done a little better; I think you can fight the Phoenix one at a time, but it looks like the right strategy and the guy is probably better at micro than I am.

I might still make a video in case you don't find the Spanish entertaining.:)

My video is done and will eventually be uploaded and accessible at:

It could be a little smoother, but it's a good strategy. You can get better results with a little practice timing attacks and pre-positioning units for the attacks. Do it right and you can often win combats without taking fire from the terror fleets. Do it wrong and you'll be starting over.:)

The Spanish video posted above uses a similar strategy, but he went for faster upgrades while I went for more Vikings. Both videos accomplish the attacks on the Nexii similarly.

The most helpful thing for me was that the mothership/purifier WON'T attack you if you attack it from behind (In the path where it came from) I only needed to make vikings and a few base defenses to win, not much else. I think I had about 16 vikings to kill the mothership. If your attacking the last base with only vikings, lure things out, don't sit down for an engaged fight.

I'm watching it now. I'm watching it because I know when I used to post here a lot you were a knowledgeable person. Do you think you can provide me with help uploading videos?

If it's too difficult, you could come back to the mission later. Play the other missions, get more credits/research, and then come back with a strengthened army.

I took on this mission after obtaining science vessels. With science vessels healing everything in the air, it's pretty easy to mass up a bunch of vikings/wraiths/etc.

Without science vessels, could be a bit harder :(

There's actually a very easy trick to this level as far as where you land your vikings.

On the last base, kill the air units then land behind the mineral patch. There's a single unit you have to kill (the rest are hallucinations) and violah~

I suppose. What's the trouble?

My videos are pretty amateurish, I don't even have a Mic.

All you need is a tool - I use Bandicam - to make the videos, YouTube is easy enough to use, it just takes FOREVER with typical modem upload speeds.

Landing in the right spot is the key to minimizing damage and getting done in time at all three locations.

There are High-Templar on brutal and their Psionic Storms are not hallucinations. Still, it's not too tough to take out the last Nexus. Your description is about right, take out the air units on the top, land most of your Vikings behind the mineral line, leave a few up for the late-coming air units and just try to get a good conclave on the Nexus.

I trained a lot of meds and rines, grabbed Goliaths and mercs were the Spartan Company and War Pigs. I build a few more viks (So i had like i think 12.)

anyway what you do with the viks is take out the Warp prisms, that protects you form the cannons when your ground force moves in. Most units when you move in are actually not that dangerous since many are hallucinations from the sentries. I believe the first base has nothing big to really worry about, so you should be fine with ignoring archons and colossi, but of you really are unsure fly a viking over before your ground force moves in.

And yea just keep building up at base while you do your thing. At the end I hope you have enough anti air, because i was cutting it close. Mass viks along with mass goliaths and mass marines/meds will most likly rip teh 8000 health mothership apart.
