I get this message after trying to launch Starcraft 2. I try to launch, it says it wants to migrate files, and requests my password to do so. After I give it my password it says: "Failed to extract files from an archive. Please Try again." I've tried many times and it's not working. I talked to a support rep. on the phone. We tried deleteing the battle.net folder under shared users, restarting the computer, and bypassing the migration by pressing cancel when it asked for my password.
I've never downloaded patch 1.5 (or had the chance to); yesterday when I tried to play it redownloaded 1.4.4 and ever since has been having the problem described above. When I first try to launch it goes to the page to download 1.4.4 again, jumps to 100%, and then wishes to migrate, as I described above. If I give my password for the migration it gives this error code: BLZPTS00008. If I try to bypass that with "cancel" (something the support rep. suggested) it gives this error code: BLZPTS0000J. Please help. This is for a MacBook Pro. Thank you. |

I had the same issue. There's something wrong with my migration download. This is what worked for me. Your milage may vary.
1. Open up a Terminal 2. Run this command to remove the bad migration : rm -rf "/Applications/StarCraft II/Temp/1.5Migration-mac" 3. Restart SC2 4. Wait for patch to download again 5. Hope it works this time |

I, too, have a MacBook Pro (late 2008, 15.4 inch) and encountered this error. After I tried the fix proposed by Esopian, I was able to download the patch successfully. However, it still requires more disk space that I have to run the installation optimizer.
