How to fix Starcraft 2 (Ubuntu 12.04/64-bit)

my old thread - took me about 15 minutes to figure it out. I am now 100% playable.
Error code: BLZPTS00007 - Agent update error and failed to make a connection type error.

Straight to the facts...
Terminal = Ctrl + Alt then press t.

How to get Starcraft working on 12.04 Ubuntu (64-bit)
1. Wine version (upgrade to 1.5)
Release Date: 01AUG12
Link: http://www.winehq.org/download/ubuntu/

2. I had to re-configure my entire Starcraft 2 game before playing. This took about 30 minutes.

3. Don't forget if you have to do this. (this might be optional)
Ctrl + Alt then press t.
sudo -i echo 0|sudo tee /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scope

I don't know if this has been posted, but just to make sure you guys get it.

Would it be good if I posted a Windows version as well?

I am a certified computer technician if anyone needs help. Even though I don't use Windows at home. I run Linux Ubuntu 12.04 and 11.10 on two laptops.

The only problem is that I don't have Windows, so I'd need someone with Windows load in chat to figure it out.

I don't own a MAC btw and have almost no experience due to Windows being in the business world and myself being a Linux Geek. I can't help many people with that. I could probably figure it out with someone, but would take a couple of hours.

Ok, I have windows and this so far is working. Good luck

This worked for me.

1. Go to: Start Menu
2.in search, type: regedit
3.tab on top File: Find
4. type: "image file execution options".
5. go into that folder/ highlight it.
6 tab on top file: Find
7 type: "Agent.exe"
8. when you find it. right click on it and rename.
9 example I used "rem agent.exe"
10 for me. I used that find search and search for agent.exe. in all folders and renamed everything that had that in its name. I just added "rem " in front of all of them that was found. there was about ten of other agent.exe's.
11 After it tells you that it is finished it search.
I closed everything and ran Starcraft program again. HOWEVER it made it past everything and now it is optimizing. Looks like it made it thru. I am 83% optimization. wish me luck I will be back if this worked.

HOTS runs fine on Lubuntu 12:10:

I just finished installing Starcraft 2 Heart of the swarm
Lubuntu 12.10 using PlayOnLinux 4.1.9 Wine 1.5.26

It runs pretty smooth, graphics are great, Kerrigan looks hot as always
Multiplayer works great, the compaign crashed on me a couple of times

The installer kept crashing when I used the installation DVD.
So step one is to download the windows installer from battle.net

Then start POL
Goto Tools > Manage Wine versions
Install wine 1.5.26 for x86

Select install
Select install a non-listed program
Create a new virtual drive (I didn't upgrade WOL because I didn't want to ruin my install.

Select use another version of Wine
Select 1.5.26
Choose the 32 bits windows installation
Select the installer

Relax and sit back
Installation took a while but it runs quite smooth.
Play On Linux didn't create an Icon for me. (Just like WOL, just make one manually)

Enjoy!
