As a precaution following our recent security update, players on North American servers please take a moment to visit Battle.net account management, where you will be prompted to change your security question as well as update your Mobile Authenticator. There you’ll also find helpful tips and an FAQ, as well as instructions on how to add additional layers of security to your account, including the Battle.net Authenticator or the Mobile Authenticator for those that aren’t already using one.

Has there been another compromise, or is this just another heads up for players on NA
I changed my password last time the security update was sent out, would there be a need to change it again as far as security goes?

Uh, the security questions are not very good. Second pet? I only had one. We should be allowed to make custom questions.

I am still opening SC2 and met with "awaiting a response from battle.net" Is the NA server still down? If not, and my account is in a unique or compromised state, what should I do? Someone please confirm they are playing on the NA server, for me..? :P Thanks

Hello!

Yes, the NA servers are up and running. You should be able to play as soon as you set up an account. If you're still having problems check out the tech support forum http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/13438/

I would just like to say that this evening I recieved an email at each of my accounts associated with bnet accounts (Snow and GameOfDrones) saying that my account was locked due to "suspicious activity". I figure it's not coincidence that right after the encrypted passwords were lost, someone tried to brute force access to my account.

Luckily, thanks to the security question change (mostly so I'd actually remember it) and blizzard locking the account and having me change my PW ASAP, nothing was lost and I'm all un-locked.

I strongly suggest that everyone change their security question and password as soon as possible, this is not a hypothetical problem - people are working, right at this moment, to gain access to your account.
