In an effort to organize the variety of topics shared in this forum, we would like to offer the following tag suggestions for threads started here:
[Bug] – The [Bug] tag should be used any time you are posting a thread regarding a StarCraft II Editor bug.
[Help] – The [Help] tag should be used any time you are requesting assistance with the StarCraft II Editor or custom map creation.
[Guide] – The [Guide] tag should be used if your thread is written to provide the community with a tutorial or how-to guide related to custom map creation. Guides can range from very technical topics ("Arrays and Loops in the Trigger Editor") to game theory ("How to Make a Fun Tutorial").
[Showcase] – The [Showcase] tag should be used to share your finished map, mod, asset, or project with the forum. This thread should be used to promote your creation, post updates, and consolidate all discussions related to your project.
If your thread doesn’t fit into any of these categories, no tag is necessary; simply create a new thread with an appropriately descriptive title and you’re good to go! We greatly appreciate you taking the time to read this thread and using these tags. We believe that these tags will help improve everyone’s experience on the Custom Maps forum and make it easier for everyone to find the threads they are looking for. Good luck and happy crafting! |

This makes me think of a neat idea if we could attach tags to our threads kind of like Youtube videos. Only to prevent abuse perhaps, the types of tags should be limited to specific areas and perhaps others could vote on those tags if they feel it's accurate.
I could see some abuse of this if certain community groups wanted to troll the forums Aside from that, this looks like a great suggestion, though perhaps we could be allowed a bit more space in the text box for the thread title OR hey maybe tags wouldn't take up title space. Perhaps some of the forum designers could create tags that we could click on, and when we create the thread, the tags are dropped in front of the title much as if we did it ourselves. Create new thread > Click tags button (on side of title textbox) > Guide Create title > How to stop cheese Create thread > blah blah turrets Display [Guide] How to stop cheese |

Interesting idea there Lykos, that sounds like a cool idea. Originally the idea for this type of tagging system came out of looking at Team Liquid, SC2Mapster, and even to a degree Reddit. If you look at their forums, there is a clear demarcation of what a post is supposed to be strictly based on the title of the thread alone. Personally I find it a lot easier to know what a thread is supposed to be about if it's titled: [Guide] Arrays in Triggers or [Help] Arrays in Triggers vs just Arrays in Triggers If we can adhere to these posting guidelines, we'll start to hopefully have a much easier time navigating through the content of the forums appropriately. |

We considered that, however we don't want to have a load of different thread tags, making it more difficult than anything else to remember which tag you should be using for your thread. Feel free to use it though, and if enough people are doing so, we can add it to the original thread's content. |

No, sorry but I don't have any moderator powers whatsoever. It was Deletarius who did all of that. |
