Custom AI difficulty differences

Hey all.

Besides building/upgrading faster and further down the tech trees, are there 'back end' differences between the custom AI difficulty levels? If so what are they?

they have maphack, will counter your units, and employ units that (while not optimal) shield them from most cheese strategies (like pumping hydras against terran players that quickly put up a starport).

they also attack with more units and do not retreat as easily.

I read in these forums somewhere that the insane collect 7 minerals per trip instead of the usual 5. Is that true? If so, those are the kinds of things Im wondering about: do the AI's rules change in the different difficulty levels?

That is true, yes. And the Insane AI is the only one that has a cheat like that. Otherwise, up to Very Hard the the AIs just play more efficiently.

You should use the custom made GreenTea AI, its very good.
