I did this, and it went through a fairly long process of recreating the folder I'd just deleted, then it got stuck on initializing again. Is it possible that Battle.net is down? I don't have internet at home right now, I'm in a public wifi, and I was hoping to log in just to authenticate the game so I could get some single player action this weekend.
This may seem to relate to map caching, as this is what is it doing during this time.
Have you tried to delete the Battle.net folder and reload to see if it helps?
Clearing your Battle.net Cache
2. Move the Battle.net folder to the trash.
3. Empty the Trash.
4. Launch Starcraft II
