StarCraft® II

The Return of Tyranny, PreRP/discussion

This RP is mainly to experiment with different stat style combat. I will give a basic backstory and the war will begin. I will also be coming out with new ideas as well as implementing some of your ideas.

Classes:

Soldier ~ If it shoots, you can use it effectively. Great chances in battle. Skilled with heavy pistols, Assault Rifles and sniper rifles, submachine-guns or shotguns.

Psionic ~ Whole hearted psionic. Psionics can read minds, sense things and perform all psionic powers. Skilled with heavy pistols and submachine-guns, sniper rifles or shotguns.

Mechanic ~ Mechanics are tech specialists that are good at manipulating the environment. They can easily reprogram mechs or fix a tank at the same time.

spectre ~ Effectively combines Soldier with Psionic. Skilled with heavy pistols and submachineguns or shotguns.

Infiltrator ~ Infiltrators are tech-savvy warriors, able to win battles by quickly disabling and killing enemies. (Soldier-Mechanic)

Guardians ~ Guardians effectively combine mechanics with psionics, making them ideal for space combat.

Abilities are not listed but each character starts with 1 ability to customize their unit with. They can be made up as long as they follow what your class is.

Common Abilities: These are abilities that Anyone can use at any time during combat.

Critical strike: add +2 to the roll of the dice, but if your opponent still beats you, he damages you 50% more. Recommended for do or die situations.

Powerful Strike: Adds 25% damage IF it makes contact, otherwise your opponent does 25% damage on you.

Flurry: Adds 25% of your chances, but deducts 75% of the damage.

Block: Reduces the opponents next strike's damage by 5x Damage level.

Dodge: Reduces the opponents roll by the level of dodge.

Melee: 30% chance of stun and damage is done according to Melee level.

BACKSTORY

The lights flickered for a few seconds before returning to their usual flash of red. The titanic class flagship battlecruiser shook and rumbled you out of your bed and onto the floor.

"Attention, multiple hull breaches! Man your battle stations!"
The voice of the ship manager came over the intercom and through the speakers.

These are never good conditions to wake up in.

I'm just gonna throw out there that even smylez admitted that this could fall on it's face. I mean, brilliant, but not my kind of RP. Sorry Mark. I'll keep tabs on it though.

It's alright! I expect it to fall on it's face. But there is only one way to find out, to do it :D

The idea is to try this out, when it fails, change it up a little, then try again. Repeat until all hope is lost or something actually works out.

I'm very careful about my stat based RPs. I didn't do the last one like this either, that street gang one.

I think he means that:
"If I wanted a stats based RP I'd play D&D."

Not quite so bluntly, but yes. This is definitely a D&D set up. I don't like D&D either XD

I like D&D but this is just...how should I say it? It's not going to work. Pen and paper is good, but if you are going to do it like that, then it must be more unique and original. But I still don't know if it's going to work.

I know D&D is dungeons and dragons but what is a D&D RP?

I know this will most likely fail, but I dont know for sure unless we try it. So I do need at least three volunteers.

You always keep abilities as a limiter.

As a limiter? What are you trying to limit?

Hoping nobody would notice. XD

Except its far enough from ME that its fine. Really the only thing similar is infiltrators and maybe mechanics.

Nobody has any thoughts on 2.1.0?

I already told you, seems similar to Mass Effect classes. And the Guardian is suited for Space? I'll show the world wrong if I join.

Hmm... Seems interesting but... To hell with it, I'll give it a shot.

I'd prefer 2.1.0 Mainly because I like Mass Effect and how you integrated it with Starcraft.
