Make Mothership interesting - World Cracker

I'd like to see the World Cracker come back to the Mothership - get it back to its roots in big scary motherships from the movies like Independence Day. You could try to make it work like so:

Protoss player gets units in place to defend the Mothership, hits World Cracker, ability begins spinning up and Mothership is locked in place - can't move. Begins blasting and gradually wipes everything out underneath it.

As it spins up it's obviously going to be attacked, and since it's slow this has the risk of being a pointless suicide mission for a big expensive unit. To make it worth the effort, you could give the Mothership another ability: Everything within a certain range (maybe the old range of its passive cloak) contributes to one collective shield shared by it and its surrounding units. That would enhance the surround and defend strategy of the World Cracker, and the general usefulness of this big slow unit.

Blizzard is too gay to actually work cool stuff like that into the game.

Heck they're even incapable of making capital ships into useful units in almost every matchup. Blizzard seems to design the entire game around tier1 units, they are under the impression this is more enjoyable or something.

Great now protoss has a nuke-like ability.

Unless I am playing SupCom I do not want a giant mechanical spider.

don't really see how this can be balanced, hence the removal from the game. It'd also be cool if the protoss could warp in carriers or make HTs be masters of hand-to-hand combat (like lore says) but there are obvious problems with it.

Hard to balance, maybe slightly. Thing is, they don't even try.

You could make it into a yamato-type of blast, that requires the MS to lock up, charge up for a few seconds and then fire for a few seconds dealing damage, make it use full energy for it.

It would be more of a toy than an OP ability, as it would require your army to sit around the MS as it prepares to fire.

I also think a MS should be able to open a vortex and teleport itself around(shoudn't be instant,vortex should be visible and noisy for both players), then use its remaining 100 energy for mass recall. It would be similar mechanic to nydus, but at a greater cost and risk.

Now that's truly an ultimate unit, with Protoss-like abilities. Increase costs on it if you want.
