Questions about SSD

Is having one on a gaming rig necessary? What exactly does it help with? I'm currently building a PC and I have left SSD out and just went with a 1TB HD.

All SSD does is cut loading time down significantly. It does not improve FPS.

However, Windows starting in less than 5 seconds, applications all starting in 1 second or so is definitely something that once experienced, you won't ever want to use normal hard drives ever again.

Also note that in games like starcraft, loading times won't matter since you'll be waiting for everyone else.

But ssd really does make a difference. An ssd to an hdd is like a dedicated gpu to an integrated gpu.
