I know the title may be confusing so I will explain. I am making a map and I need to have a small region on the very bottom away from the main melee map for hero selection. How do I go about separating these maps with space (dark) so when you scroll off the main melee map it's not this blue hue as I'm seeing now. I'm pretty new to all this so sorry if this is a noob question.
To further explain my general idea: Once the hero is selected the camera will auto pan to the melee map summoning point. So these need to be drastically separated as to be realistic.
Thanks in advance!!!

I would suggest you, depending of your concept, to simply change the minimap to the play area. For example, in your post I understand that a player would select a Hero before playing like a Melee game. Then, at the beginning of the game, you could resize the map to the hero area during the moment the player pick the hero, then, when he selected it, at the moment where you said you would pan to the starting location, you could re-resize the map to the play area excluing the hero area.
At some point, you could make the hero area take something like 2x2 space. You could have very small unit and the camera could be very zoomed to see like if was normal game view. It would take alot less place, but it's just an idea ;)
