If I play a replay of a previous version, I have absolutely no problem. I strongly advise anyone who suspects they have the same problem to test the same way.
I'd also like to say that I'm not some flaming anti-social internet grouch. I'd just like to be able to play my game again. :(

It often lags for 1 to 3 seconds every 20 to 30 seconds or so, and then produces an enormous amount of lag in medium to large battles, making the game impossible to play.

The issue is still not fixed, in spite of the indication in the patch notes. Note that this happens in offline bot matches, and singleplayer as well.
I would like to add that, when this occurs, whatever sound that was playing at that particular moment is repeated over and over for the duration of the freeze.

I'm trying to be discretionary about which ones I link. I realize the term lag is used very loosely (a precedent set by the previous topic). I, personally, do not mean to indicate that the server takes too much time to receive a data packet, or that it takes time for an input to be received from my keyboard. As the quote stated, the game freezes for a second or so every once in a while at an irregular interval (it varies a lot more than the quote indicates).
I will be bumping this topic occasionally to show support for this issue.

I'm getting a similar issue - stuttering, appears to occur more frequently during large battles or later on in the game, especially when I'm seeing enemies. Every 5-30 seconds, the game graphics pause for a split second (probably around a quarter of a second). I normally run on high settings, but I set everything low and still got the same problem.
Computer has run SC2 fine in the past, although the beta has been choppy. It runs Battlefield 3, Planetside 2, and other high-performance games in the past.
I'm having this same issue. It's very aggravating. I'm trying to practice to play the game again, now I realize why I quit in the first place.
I can't play at all, the game starts stuttering hardcore during and after the mid-game. I's most certainly NOT my computer. I'm running on an i7 3770k processor, GTX 670 video card, 16GB RAM, and SC2 is installed on my 120GB SSD.
Blizzard Doesn't care about this game or user feedback anymore. Ever since they merged with Activision, this company is all about money. The 1.5.2 patch literally made tens to hundreds of thousands of people who used to be able to play this game JUST FINE, completely unable to play on the lowest setting because of blizzard's new change to Opt to STREAMING. This is another move to save the company a large amount of money on server hosting, at the expense of us housing our own connections and bandwidth by streaming the games instead. Despite thousands of people complaining about how this ruins gameplay and makes many people unable to play now, they continue to not fix it. What do they care, they have your 59.99 already.
It was actually 1.5.0 that f'ed everything up.
this makes alot of sense. I guess thats why they dont answer this issue. they have nothing good to say.
I used to be able to play sc2 on an outdated comp, it ran it absolutely fine, no problems with anything, then the patch hits and now since a game(ladder) starts there's like a stutter every few seconds and it RUINS the game....
but i was like hey, maybe the crappy computer finally couldnt handle the game anymore for some reason BUT I built a my dream computer this month, 120+FPS in games, same trusty internet connection, every game runs perfectly EXCEPT SC2, still has the same exact stutter....so its not my end. its blizzard obvs. IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT. kinda quit this game until HOTS maybe something will be reverted /shrug so disappointing that something was running PERFECTLY works like crap now.
I still have the same issue; it isn't fixed. Everyone who has been complaining about the massive FPS drop since 1.5 is still suffering from the same problem, despite patch notes indicating otherwise.
I used to run this game fine on ultra settings.
AMD Phenom II hex core @ 3.4ghz
ATI 5870 eyefinity 2gb GDDR5
I play games that are significantly more CPU and GPU intensive online with no problems.
The only problematic game I now have, post patch 1.5, is Starcraft 2.
This has now been going on since what, August 2012? No rush, Blizzard, its not like we paid for this game or anything like that.
At this point, I don't intend to spend a dime on another Blizzard product again. I've bought nearly every title they have made to date, from Warcraft 1 onward, for them to grow too big for their britches and stop supporting their products.

I am so glad I am not the only one getting this problem. The 1.5 patch came out at the end of summer last year and still my problem with low fps during middle to late stages of the game occurs.
I read on Teamliquid that it is not a problem on HoTS... so I think Blizzard simply doesn't give a **** about WoL fps issues. In fact it encourages people to get the expansion. Disgusting if you ask me.
edit: I was absolutely not having this problem before the 1.5 "arcade" patch. Yes, I played on low settings on my laptop (I prefer low settings because it's easier to see what's going on), but I experienced no lag even in 4v4 matches with everyone maxed out on units.
