StarCraft® II

Will SC2 run on EXTREME on this rig?

Came across couple of grand, Thought id build me a nice semi-high but affordable rig.

Ive built computers before but im not 100% that everything will work, From research everything seems compatible. Or is it?

With this compete with SC2 on extreme?

Intel Core i7-2600k 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
Asus GeForce GTX 680 2GB Video Card
Asus P8Z77-V LK ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
G.Skill Value Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory
Antec High Current Gamer 1000W Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply

Any suggestions or changes will be considered and Thanked :)

Edit:messed up :)

Yes, but i7-2600k is last-gen. Also, SC2 won't run any better on i7 vs. i5.

This is a severe overkill build with no real benefits for just SC2.

no benefits to i7 period for gaming. Save the 100, put it in gpu.........

Overkill on power supply also.

Recommend on getting 1600mhz ram instead of 1333mhz.

I'm running with a gtx 550, an amd phenom, and a 750w power supply, and as soon as I put sc2 on, it recommended extreme settings.

It runs beautifully even in windowed mode while playing music from youtube/pandora. I haven't tried anything extra to test the performance, but it has only been a week. Runs quite, and stays cool. I agree with everyone here, your build is overkill.
