Is the time not good for you? Please post in: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/7708412840?page=1

  • Time: Friday 8:00-11 PM EST (-5:00 GMT) every week

    • 7:00-10 PM Central
    • 6:00-9 PM Mountain
    • 5:00-8 PM Pacific

  • Place: To participate, be sure to join the Forum Posters group chat. Click the "Groups and Clans" tab next to your friends list and search for "Forum Posters" or paste this link: starcraft://group/1/319 into a SC2 chat room and click it. (Or paste it into your browser's address bar.)

  • Contact Me by messaging me (TheSkunk#386) in the game or on Skype (Bovinefreedome - make sure you tell me what your forum account is when you add me) or by posting in this thread if you have any other issues.

  • Themes: There is a theme each week to encourage fun, but you don't have to show a replay that follows the theme.

    This week's theme: None

      Want to attend? Get Skype!

Even if you don't have a microphone (you should consider getting one) you should get a skype account so you can listen in on our call. The majority of the people attending are on the skype call, so if you're not you will feel very left out!

There are many advantages to the Skype call, such as:

  • While replays are fast-forwarding, observer chat scrolls away too fast. There is also chat clutter in the replay. Using voice chat avoids these problems.
  • Often times, people will alt-tab in-between replays if it takes a while to get set up. If everyone is on the skype call, we can announce when a game invite went out so everyone can tab back.
  • Its a lot of fun.

  • In general, you'll find Replay Nights to be a LOT more fun if you join the skype call, even if you just want to listen! Don't miss out!

    Additional Info:

Replay Nights is a forum event where we get together to watch each others replays, to give advice or for pure entertainment. Currently it is being held Friday 7:30-11 PM EST every week, but this may change based on feedback. A significant portion of the fun comes from the Skype chat.

When you join the party, you can ask me to add you to the queue. Then, we take turns passing around control of the party to players in the queue so they can host their replay.

Please note, only show one replay at a time. If you want to show another, ask to be added to the queue again.

Sweet! Will any replay war action happen during this? or is it spectator only?

Lastly; how does everyone feel about Skyping during this?
I think this is a great idea, i hate having to type out all my thoughts.

I'll add replays when i get back from class.

Eh, we'll wing it -- I imagine there will be times when we decide to randomly load into a replay. As for an official, full-fledged replay war -- those take a bit of time, so probably not unless we get bored of watching replays. :P

    Which I could see happening.

If Replay Wars turn out to be particularly fun or popular, I'll probably create a separate thread\event for them. Starting small for right now.

Are you planning on doing this nightly, or once a week/month ect.? I couldn't tell from your thread.

My bad. I thought I had specified Friday in the headline and so I neglected to mention the day in the post.

Friday 7-11 PM, EST -- every week. Hopefully this is clear in both the text and title now. If its popular enough I may make it run two days (but not any more) and if the time doesn't work for you please post in the thread I linked to. (In your specific case, you already have)

I'll join to watch and provide some knowledge and entertainment. I have no replays to submit for my own benefit. I has Skype.

Cool! But without replays the show won't go on. :P

If people don't submit any we can chose them impromptu, and we have all week to get replays anyway.

Well, it seems others will add them. I honestly don't have any to submit that will do anything more than stroke my non-existant ego. I'm not perfect, but I have identified all my flaws and I know what to do to get better. So reviewing my replays won't be much help unless people want to learn my builds.

Well, if you have one that is simply amusing to watch it doesn't matter if you don't need help.

If you've played against another forum poster, that would be a good choice as at least there would be interest because of the players.

Anyways, I'm one to talk. I still haven't found a good replay yet! If Me and Zappy finish our replay war (http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/7764876602?page=2) I'd definitely choose that.

Great idea! I'm hoping to see lots of feedback on Watch With Others feature after the first Replay Night concludes. :)

Are you able to watch replays with more than 2 people, or is the idea to pair up? Also I am unfamiliar with websites that would be best to upload the few I have. (I will have to play more this week to show off the interesting builds I have been working on)

Also if you are low on replays, there are some replay packs that pros and high level players (HTOMario comes to mind if you want to watch mech games) Also if anyone has their Funday Monday games, that could be especially interesting to watdh some skyterran and skytoss.

You can watch them with 16 people at a time. Due to how much interest is being show in the thread (very little) I don't expect any more then 8 people to show up, at least this time -- but yes, I do foresee having to split up at some point down the road.

I listed http://drop.sc/ in the main post; as it is my favorite replay site -- though there are others.

At the very least, I'll be making a post about it! I'll try to encourage others to do so as well.

I've been really trying to find good replays, but i've been a tad busy the last few days, and have had a lot of lackluster matches. However, i have a lot of free time tonight, so i hope to get enough matches in that a few good ones come out of it.

Here is my hour and 50 minute submission. It was my first TvT ever -- glad it was in HotS. The game is pretty lulz, it's definitely worth a laugh.

My opponent claimed to be a masters random player in WoL. It's a back and forth game. I'd recommend watching in x4 speed. Enjoy!

Ok, cool. I will definitely be on. Shame we can't get it more popular, but it is still young and it will get even better when HotS releases. In any case, I guess I have a replay to submit although I would prefer to refine the current strategy of using early widow mines to get a good mech opening. I find this to be more entertaining. http://drop.sc/300714
