Decal Doodad won't appear.

Hello,

I'm plowing through the battle.net tutorial on how to make terrain, and I'm currently stuck on the decal doodad section where it wants you to make a helipad. When I place the decal doodads, they do not appear. I can still modify them, etc, but they are not visible. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks!

Are you sure the Doodads layer is visible in the Terrain Editor? From the menu, View -> Show Layer -> Doodads or Shift+D to toggle it by default.

I am having the same problem. The doodad layer is set to visible. Could this be related to running on low video settings?

I am having the same issue and just came to the forums to resolve it. I was happy when I saw I was not alone.

I'm in the same boat as Splargaman. I don't know if this means anything, but I also noticed that the button to toggle Doodads when you follow the following instructions:

From the menu, View -> Show Layer -> Doodads or Shift+D to toggle it by default.

is grayed out so you can't change the setting. It is checked, however. Very odd.

Your graphics settings need to be at least "high". I used to have this problem too, but I found that raising your graphics to "high" will let you see them.

Sorry for double post, but...

Press "V" then try again. It should unlock it. This is for toggling editing modes - The "locked" state is the state when you can see "in game" - trigger region and helper models will vanish, and effects like clouds will appear. The unlocked is where you can see helper models and trigger regions and cameras and such.
