Mac abruptly turns off since 2.0.5

I been playing Starcraft 2 on my MacBook Pro since release without issue. Since 2.0.5 patch, the laptop would shutdown abruptly when starting / playing Starcraft 2. The first time, yesterday, it shutdown when I got about 10 supply in a 3v3 ranked game; the second time, it did so when loading a 3v3 game; the third time it happen on the initial game menu; then now it happens when I click the "PLAY" button on the launch menu. I been working on my mac for hours without issue and only happen with starting / playing Starcraft so it does not seem to be a general mac issue. It is one thing for the application to crash, but for it to shutdown my mac completely is unacceptable. Anyone else having the this issue?

Spec:
Mid 2009 MacBook Pro
OS 10.7.5
3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
88 GB of 320GB available

If it is shutting down the Mac, it may be a overheating issue. That is the only time I've seen that happen.

Do you have something like SMC fan control installed to monitor your temps?

Just a note on this: on my Mac Pro 2009 (Nehalem), my GPU fan goes NUTS on the opening screen after login. Probably could easily start an overheat problem there. Doesn't seem much different after that. I have the ATI 4870 GPU on it.

(I know it's not a Macbook, but I'm very much thinking thermal issues for your laptop, as the Blizzard guy is.)

Is there a setting in a file somewhere for max fps?

Well anyway a little more detailed report is I have a standard mid-2011 27' iMac. Whats been happening to me is my computer will shut down cold as if the cord has been pulled in Starcraft (since the hots release)and then it resets. I don't have this issue with anything else.

I did reset my SMC without success. It didnt fix anything.
I did not previously have any form of fan control on the computer, after reading this I installed SMC fan control still having the same problem.
I deleted all my starcraft 2 files on the computer and reinstalled the game still no good.

When I do anything else on the computer I don't have a problem I spent a few hours doing computer intensive stuff so I'm sure it's a starcraft related problem.

I've probably played 100+ plus games since 2.0.4 without a problem.
It really sucks to pull out a laptop and play this on release day instead of my 27inch imac.

If it is shutting down, then it is more than likely overheating. What temps did you see when you had SMC Fan Control enabled?

The game shut down at about 115-118F which is supposed to be pretty normal tempature.

Check /Applications/Utilities/Console for anything right before the restart or shortly thereafter, mentioning "thermal" or "shutdown cause".

Okay here the first 2 are the console before shutdown.

This is the last istats menu picture i took before it shut down. I was like 10 minutes into my 4v4 game.

This actually seems, somewhat low. The fan speed is a bit lower than I expected.

Though I'm not seeing anything from the log pointing at SC2 directly. Have you tried contacting Apple or the Apple Store to check the console entries to be sure?

Also, do you have any other games you can try out to see if they are affected as well?

Last thing I would see is to make sure you try running the Apple Hardware Test to make sure everything is ok.

I ran Diablo 3 just fine.

Here is a hardware test
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk276/Cybercmw/D2DABE03-7736-4C9E-8861-B1A40625018E-2776-000000D888F795B2.jpg

I turned on SMC fan control and changed the CPU fan RPM from the 940 to 1600 while i was playing. Still turned off. I dont know what else I can do.

One thing I noticed with Diablo is fans speed change automatically but they wont with Starcraft

What are you system specs?

Obtaining System Information
    1. Hold the 'Option' Key and choose System Profiler/Information from the Apple Menu.

    2. Copy the information from the following sections:
  • Hardware (remove the Serial Number line)
  • Graphics/Displays
  • Software (remove the Computer Name and User Name lines)

Mac OS X 10.8.3 just came out today also, so try updating to that.
