New Nvidia driver is out 320.18

Testing...
Update:

Installed the new driver that came out (320.18) today. Ran a repair on SC2, deleted both variables.txt files, and restarted comp. Also, that Geforce Experience came with the driver. Didn't change anything from the recommended settings it has for me.

Played for about 5hrs straight, logged off and logged back on. The fps is viable and I can do most 3v3 games with little lag. 4v4 still pushes it for me, but no crashes!

Obviously, it's too early to say whether I am actually fixed, as deleting that variables.txt has only been a temp fix. The new driver is likely the reason behind my ability to play.

I'll update (we unlucky ones) again later after a few days to see if the error still occurs at all or on a more tolerable basis. Campaign still runs fine for me. Replays not doing more than 4x are possible (with anything on-screen) now too.

//\\^^//\\

Edit:
Forgot to mention: played several campaign missions for achievements, played one 4v4 and about 16-17 3v3 games. Only lagged when all 6 armies were engaged on my screen.

I still have crashes on 320.18 TT

Update:

Still running good. Worst thing that's happened is SC2 crashed when I tried to open it (just froze). Restarted after that and I'm still good. So far the driver is working.

still crashing and another big LOL at this ridicolous support forum. The same f.n joke as the eu forum.

... The forums just ate my post. Good thing I have it in notepad. Let's try again I guess.

1. Starcraft freezes up, I get some awful sounding audio feedback for about 2-5 seconds, and then it shuts off/ambient sounds from SC kick back in. At this point I can move my mouse, and hitting ctrl+alt+del lets me get to the task manager, but trying to exit starcraft/force quit/end process doesn't work, and starcraft just hangs out on my taskbar eating away at memory. When I eventually try to restart my computer, I am unable to, and have to kill it with the power switch. This has been happening for about the last week or so (about 20-30 times now), haven't had problems before that. The duration of the audio feedback seems to be increasing as well, with the last crash having feedback that didn't stop until I hit the power switch.

I've updated all of my drivers, tried lower graphic settings, used the blizzard repair tool, checked for overheating, capped the framerate, and made sure everything was stock settings (I never overclocked anyway). I also play many other games on my computer, some of which have higher system requirements, and I have had 0 problems with any of them.

2. I've only ever gotten a dialog/error box once, and it was a DirectX/OpenGL box from blizzard with no details, I got a code for submitting my specs to blizz, but that's it. That's the only error folder I have in my SC2 folder. I don't wanna attach it because it's huge, but I can send it somewhere if that'll help (and assuming it hasn't already been sent to blizz).

6. NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M, 70.08.44.00.11

I really hope you guys can get this fixed, whatever 'this' is. It's starting to become incredibly frustrating to play this game, when I just know that I'm going to get booted and have to restart my computer at some point. It also sucks for my team, who goes down a man every time I hit the power button. It's getting to the point where I don't really want to play anymore, despite liking the game itself.

Workaround is working for me now...capped the framerate at 30...graphics set to lowest setting except 1920x1080p resolution and 3d portraits...and ultra textures. It looks horrible but it's not crashing at least. It will crash if i raise graphics pretty much at all...even though the card is more than capable of running at medium with a few highs thrown in.

Update:

I still running fine. I get the occasional hiccup, but it's minor enough.

Hopefully the rest of you guys will be patched sometime in the next decade...

I should probably stop checking in here every day.

I'm still going to check in every day.
WHY MUST YOU TEST ME?!

It's ok. I'm still checking every day too. I've opened a support ticket and gone back and forth now. Still haven't found a fix that sticks though... I've spent more time updating drivers, looking on forums, and trying to fix this game than I have playing it.

I still have the same direcx /opengl grafic error. Blizzard, what is the matter? Is it really that hard to find a solution? Ok, u were not able to replicate the problem..but still, since 3 Months???
I want my money back!

Been trying to play HotS competitively the past week and it's just impossible due to the number of freezes and lockups during multiplayer online games.

The game will just freeze with one solid color. Most of the time the color is purple or gray, and the only way I can exit out is by doing a hard shutdown to my computer.

There has to be something wrong with the game as I play many other games on this laptop that require much more graphic-intensive commands and it all runs smoothly no problem. Even SC2:WoL ran fine and never had a problem.

It's ever since the release of HotS, I've had more stalls and lockups than I do losses and it really has taken a toll on my account and status.

Blizzard... fix ur !@#$.

It's sad that we must pay $60 for you to deliver a broken game while League of Legends is free and runs perfectly everytime.

It's getting to the point where I don't really want to play anymore, despite liking the game itself.

thats EXACTLY my problem, well explained (i have 540m).

Well I re installed EVERY possible driver on my computer and even did BIOS to just my mouse driver. I still crash :(

by the way this is what the tech support person said when i linked him to this thread,

[ "I mean, reading through this thread (I've actually read this one before, back when it was just up to 8-9 pages). If
we are working with Nvidia to resolve the issue, I am not sure what else the developers could do at this point." ]

(Tech support is always very friendly and I'm sorry if my temper over the issue poorly represents my appreciation for the support and love of the game)
