Placement apply layers won't rotate

To save myself some time, I modified some of the default footprints (because copied or fully custom footprints don't seem to work at all) to create a particular shape for blocking both pathing and sight. When I place a doodad that uses this footprint, it successfully blocks the pathing where it should even when the doodad is rotated. The sight blocking layer (from placement apply) doesn't rotate with the pathing footprint, letting me walking into a "room" from one side, but only letting me see into it from another. I know I can work around this by not using rotationally-asymmetric footprint and just building everything from smaller pieces, but that defeats the purpose of having anything larger than 1x1 squares. Is there something I should be doing differently?

Try asking the data forum, they know way more about this than a ("pure") terrainer.
