I don't know, but it might lead to more insights on LoTV, lol.

interesting. So i guess his death was the beginning of something. Or perhaps empowering kerrigan started something.

In the fullness of time
The cycle shall draw to its end.
The xel'naga, who forged the stars,
Will transcend their creation....
Yet, the Fallen One shall remain,
Destined to cover the Void in shadow...
Before the stars wake from their
Celestial courses,
He shall break the cycle of the gods,
Devouring all light and hope.

It begins with the Great Hungerer.
It ends in utter darkness.

It's possible. Still, Zurvan had no corruption like the Overmind did.

It's obviously the Overmind.

The profecy is about Amon's plan of destruction.

The first step of his plant was the corruption of the Overmind - the hungerer.

The last step is complete darkness.

This is the plan of the dark one.

Recap: The hungerer is the overmind - blatantly obvious.

That we know of. The prophecy isn't fully clarified yet, we need to wait for LotV for that...

Wait, when is Zurvan referred to as the great hungerer?

well, Zurvan is known as The Ancient One, the first zerg.
hence "it begins with.."
And then it was said, "to awaken this creature, you must feed it"
hence "..the Great Hungerer".

The Overmind is just the mind of the zerg, it does not consume, rather it seeks to conquer and spread the zerg. Whereas Zurvan hungers for essence and seeks to consume. So if we connect the dots, Zurvan is indeed the Great Hungerer. >:)

Overmind devoured Xel'Naga, a greater hungerer than Zurvan.
Overmind's destructing Xel'Naga as a beginning of the whole story or its invasion to Aiur(war against Protoss) as a beginning of Xel'Naga's return or its creating Queen of Blades as a beginning of the rebellion against the returning Xel'Naga , are obviously more reasonable "beginnings".

It's hunger and deeds are also more valid prophecy-wise.

It didn't create the Queen of Blades to rebel against the Xel'Naga AS A WHOLE, just Amon, who's a traitor to the Xel'Naga's cause.
