I consider myself a player, not a mapmaker, but this one time I made a map for fun. I showed it to some people in oBs, but didn't post it anywhere else. Just posting it here now to see if people have any thoughts.
Players: 2 (1v1)
Playable area: 142x142
Tileset: Shakuras (Wasteland) with one Monlyth texture subbed in
Spawn locations: bottom left, upper right
Distinguishing features: Cliffs EVERYWHERE, Xel'Naga Caverns-style backdoor to the natural with a twist. Also flying shark because why not.
Published on NA.
I originally called it Sacred Quarry, but I kept getting it confused with Fossil Quarry (Blizzard map). So I'm calling it Sacred Shrine for officialsies now.
Also I think zergs might cry upon seeing this map. "How am I going to get a surround now?" They ask. I don't know, man. Spawn some mutas or something. Mutas always get me. In all seriousness, I don't know how I could make this map more zerg-friendly without betraying its essence. ESSENCE. Yeah.
EDIT: Recently did a major update making the map feel a lot less claustrophobic. Did some other changes too which I think bring the map into a bit more of a mainstream feel.
