The terrans are relative newcomers to the Koprulu sector. They are the descendents of a disastrous colonization expedition launched from Earth centuries ago, its human cargo made up of dissidents and malcontents the government deemed expendable. The survivors of the expedition established three colonies that became the basis for the major power blocs in terran space: the Confederacy, the Kel-Morian Combine, and the Umojan Protectorate. The corrupt Confederacy was overthrown by terrorist and revolutionary Arcturus Mengsk during the chaos of the zerg invasion. Now the Terran Dominion has emerged from the ashes of the old Confederacy as the dominant power, ruled by none other than Emperor Arcturus I.

Forced to adapt to the harsh existence on the mostly lifeless worlds of the sector, the terrans are masters of survival. With neither the advanced technology of the protoss nor the natural prowess of the zerg to rely on, the terran military forces consist of a varied mix of units. From basic but effective infantry like the Marines to heavily armed battlecruisers, terran units rely on solid armor, plentiful firepower, and strength in numbers to hold the line. Terrans excel in defensive situations where their bunkers and Siege Tanks really shine.

Terran Characteristics
Survivors

The terrans have learned to adapt their tactics to rapidly changing battlefield conditions in surprising ways. Terran production facilities, for example, can lift off and fly to different locations, allowing the terrans to relocate entire bases on the fly.

Build Anywhere

Unlike the other races, terrans can create buildings wherever they want. Combined with their production facilities’ lift-off capabilities, terrans have incredible base-building flexibility.

Adaptable

The terran military includes highly trained and specialized infantry units such as the rugged and reliable Marines, guerrilla-fighting reapers, and the stealthy ghost infiltrators. Mixing different units allows the terrans to capably handle any situation.

Nuclear Launch Detected

The terran arsenal includes one of the game’s most devastating weapons, the tactical nuke. Nukes require a lot of planning, but once you see a mushroom cloud rising from the ashes of a vanquished foe’s base, you’ll know it was worth all the trouble.

@chessmaster: I play Protoss only. I think it just too much trouble having only being able to build 3 units at time as Zerg. And how Terran has very weak damage. I think only Protoss is the race that has average health and average damage.

@JetfirePrime: BC rushes have saved my butt in both the first and second Star Craft games. You must have some strange way to plan your tactics if your BC rushes if they fail you.

@JetfirePrime: well, I have never been able to participate in one of those. my computers pool memory gave up before I could even finish the campaign. but I tell u now that as long as you take precautions, yamato any major threat, fix and replace the BC in the group and use hit and run tactics u can bring a lot of virtual pain to your opponents with minimal casualties for your side.

They might seem primitive compared with the Toss and slow unit builders compared with the Zerg, (plus all the exposed wires, rust and dirt discourage many) they are the best damn race in the game!!! :D

@ZERGASSASIN: Lets see: The Terran are cheep, mobile, effective against anything but even better when doing what they are specialized for, can mount a impenetrable defense, can heal their units, can nuke a entire base to hell and can move entire bases away when they need to. Plus they have a large variety of tactics that launch all hell on the enemy and they do not have to waste as much resources construction. Toss are also good in both 1 on 1ns and more generalized tactics, but their expensive and cant be healed when wounded. The Zerg are less effective warriors and the tactics given are more limited and predictable to those that know their ABC about them. Plus the Zerg and Toss both need something to sustain their base: Zerg: creep. Toss:pylons. The Terran can build enywhere.

@IWWYA: something I forgot to say:I play the Toss sometimes and they are very effective, but I still think that the Terran are better because they can equalize the efectiveness of Toss warriors for half the prize and still survive if the base is overwhelmed because the base can just get the hell out of that area.

Tech to get stim. always have stim. Shields are good if you have the time/gas.
