Below are the patches for all of our games. While World of Warcraft and StarCraft II will attempt to patch automatically, the below files can be used if you prefer to download the patches directly. Patch mirrors are not always available immediately. If you experience any problems installing these patches, see the Troubleshooting section below.

Troubleshooting

Your game may require a patch before it is updated to the current version. The easiest way to make sure you are patched is by logging into the game using your Battle.net account name and password.

Administrator Access is Required

If you are using Windows XP/Vista/7 or Mac OSX, be sure you are logged on as an administrator account when patching. If the game is not installed and patched on an administrator account, computer permissions can prevent the patch from applying properly. We cannot support the game or patch on a non-administrator account.

For Windows:
  1. Click Start, click Control Panel and look for an icon called User Accounts.
  2. Double-click User Accounts. This will bring up a list of users on your computer.
  3. Find the user account that matches your user name and look in the Group column. Set the group to Administrator. If the group is already set to Administrator, no further change is necessary.
Windows Vista/7

Right click on the game icon (StarCraft II, World of Warcraft, or Diablo III shortcut) and select Run as Administrator option to begin patching.

Mac

Open System Preferences and then Accounts. Make sure your account has the Admin option underneath it.

Firewalls and Security Programs

We have had a number of reports that disabling or temporarily uninstalling firewall and antivirus programs (Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm) will allow the patch to complete successfully. Do not remove security software if you can't reinstall it, but removing these programs will minimize or eliminate the chance they will interfere with the patch. If you are able to patch but then cannot connect, it is almost certainly one of these programs.

To properly configure your firewall for our games, visit our Port Configuration page.

Selective Startup

If you find you are getting errors during patching, we strongly recommended running in a Selective Startup since background applications can interfere with these operations. You can find more information and detailed instructions for this mode on the Closing Background Applications page.
