The Invasion Has Begun

Panic has seized Orgrimmar, Stormwind City, Thunder Bluff, and Ironforge. In each of these great capitals, guards have ordered citizens to evacuate in preparation for what they believe will be an elemental invasion of catastrophic proportions.

Yet not everyone has chosen to flee.

Several brave heroes have resolved to face the coming storm. Members of the Earthen Ring and leaders from among Azeroth's noble races have also assembled to protect these Horde and Alliance strongholds from destruction. Exactly how the impending elemental assault will unfold remains unknown... and even the most ardent defenders are on edge as they await the threat of annihilation.

The events leading up to Cataclysm have reached a tipping point. Be sure to take advantage of this one-time opportunity to embark on unique new quests and fight for the survival of your homelands.

As always, the problem with the invasion is on unbalanced servers. I cant remember when allies conquered SW or IF (if IF ever gets unbugged). Not enough allies around to help raid....

I was told the black skies were a sign of deathwing so i was freaking out, i was actaully disapointed but at the same time im loving the 251's that drop from the cata bosses

i haven't played since I reach 80 and that was a few weeks after WOTLK came out, and came on to earthquakes and elements attacking stormwind and I was like wtf mate?

I agree with Bersk, this is also my first 'before and expansion event' and im having alot of fun. I think its a fun event to get everyone in the mood for cata and to really get them out of dal and back into the capitals lol.

@Reticence: Lol you can't blame me for this! This event is lamesauce compared to the BC>Wrath launch events.

Could be my bias against elementals to begin with though, always thought they were boring and annoying mobs to fight. But then again since all my toons are casters fighting them usually resulted in half my spec being useless because of immunities. *shakes fist*

Came back on the free week after being bored of having 3 chars hit raid in wrath, compared to zombie invasion this invasion is boring an repeatative. The portals take too long to grind down the elementals are boring to fight and look at and the mini bosses are boring and drop bad loot thats being replaced by cata greens. I got my feat of strength.

It feels old hat and rushed. Total snoozefest compared to becoming a zombie and infecting entire cities.

i was a bit disappointed to find out there was no quest for it and no last boss at the end (i know about the dudes in the portals btw, but a giant elemental boss in sw would be cool)

This reminds me so much of Scourge invasion. everyone is like, 'Wow! this is soooo cooooool!' Then a few days pass by, not as fun anymore. Then a week later, your trying to get stuff done and can't and you just become soooo annoyed of everything. lawl :D

@Plagoo: Blah scourge invasion was so much better. Even the boring part where arthas wandered aimlessly around org with some frost wyrms.

Least becoming a zombie was a hoot.

I feel like I'm grinding MC during these events, which was something I got enough of from back in the day.
