Thanks to all of the new, existing, and returning World of Warcraft players out there, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm sold more than 3.3 million copies as of its first 24 hours of release, making it the fastest-selling PC game of all time. That’s a lot of flamebait for Deathwing. Check out the press release for all the details, and thanks again from all of us at Blizzard!

wow. best expansion ever. first game i have ever gone to the midnight release to. sadly my internet was down when i got back so me and a RL ally couldn't play. but other than that its just epic. i could write a page alone on epicness. btw i think we should get a in game pet for this record breaker!

When I heard Cataclysm was going to come out and heard of all the changes I thought it would be a flop and that I would probably stop playing wow then i actually played it and its probably the best expansion Blizzard has made best race choices Goblins turned out to be awesome and Worgens are the bomb. Grats Blizzard you did really really great :-) Cataclysm is totally worth the money

Well Blizzard is has some pretty brilliant people working for it, by basically giving away a vast majority of the expansion for free (not including the subscription), they whet the appitites of the public for the *new* new content only available with the purchase of the expansion.

They took the what every drug dealer knows and put it to use to make insane profits:
The first hit is always free....

3.3 mil (x) (game cost round up to $40) = 132 million in one day that is not counting other days if all 12million of us buy thats 480 million ..... and you know what it was worth it the cut scenes alone and the worgen start zone is so epic it not even funny
