BlizzCon 2011 Announced!

What could be better than spending two days checking out the latest versions of Blizzard games, watching eSports tournaments, and chatting with developers alongside a few thousand of your closest friends? We couldn't think of anything either, so we're bringing BlizzCon back in 2011! That's right, BlizzCon will be returning to the Anaheim Convention Center on Friday, October 21 through Saturday, October 22, and will feature an exciting mix of discussion panels, tournaments, hands-on gameplay, contests, and much more. Check out the announcement press release, and keep an eye on www.blizzcon.com in the months ahead for further details, including ticketing information.

better be talking about a new expansion cuz cata was ( im my opinion ) a waste of a few months in my life. and Blzzard make the lvl cap go up by 10's again and not 5, 5 lvl's is not as hardcore as 10

Love Randy<3 :DDD

I hope the next expansion isn't mists of pandora that would be stupid. It should be the emerald dream and have a new hero class.

@Keysa: I heard they are going to make ogres a horde race and that there might be a new hero class. BUT sadly I also heard that it might be something called "Return of the Legion" :(

What I also noticed is, both winners live within 2 hours of the convention center.

Winner 1 is 1 hour 55 mins / 110.51 miles from the place.
Winner 2 is 13 mins / 6.30 miles from the place.

Whining!!!! Good grief! They don't HAVE to do Blizzcon at all! Several people have remarked on the cost of moving Blizzcon around to different parts of the country or to other countries.. prohibitively expensive... and most of you don't listen to that... yet you are the same people who complain that Blizz doesn't listen to you. Can't afford a plane ticket? Then get the virtual ticket.. I did last year and never missed a thing! It was great! Yes, I would love to be there in person! Yes, I would love to visit the vendors and exhibits... I can't afford it. I'm not gonna whine about it though, because the virtual ticket is an inexpensive and very viable alternative... plus I don't have to deal with hotel costs.. crowded and dirty public bathrooms... finding something to eat at a price that doesn't break the bank... and not having to lop the head or hat off the person who sits in front of me at the forums. There's good to it all. And those of you who complain about Blizz not listening? Think again... a lot of the changes that are made to the WoW game are because people communicated their likes and dislikes... just because you didn't get your personal wish, doesn't mean they didn't hear you. You whiners need to get it into your heads that you are not the only one in the world... either this one.. or the fantasy ones.

@Praeus: Last year I missed out on about 5hrs of the event, because my video card stuffed up on me. I still bought the ticket and watched what I could. And I was completely okay with the price of the virtual ticket. Sometimes I buy them and don't even watch the show (because of work).

Those on the East Coast (or anywhere else) that is complaining, get off the forums and start making money to save for a ticket. It is next October for gods sake. U can scrounge a few hundred dollars by then.
And multiple traveling shows?! WTF would be the point of that. Blizzcon is supposed to be full of awesome surprises and have built up suspense for a year.
Why would u go to a secondary showing where nothing new happens?

P.S. Blizz has to work, not play footsie with the fans all year. They have a job to do to keep the gamers happy.

@Areos: You don't have until Oct to save nublet -the tickets will sell out by the end of may. Yeah, you can save for the 500 plane ticket, but not for the actual blizzcon tickets.

P.S. Blizz has a ton of money. You know they have games other than world of warcraft that sell.

For every reason Blizzard gives for not havinf BlizzCon here in Chicago, I can give 10 reason why they should. There is only 1 reson they can give me that I can't give a reason against it, and that's because they are greedy and could care less about thier player base.

You do realize that if Blizzcon moved from their home town in Anaheim , CA (where staffers could just wake up from their own homes and drive there, put comps and equipment in trucks and drive it a few miles) that the cost would translate to an astronomical ticket price.

They would have to pay for each employee to fly there and back, hotel accommodations and per diem, let alone the cost to ship the thousands of pieces of computers and equipment there and back including the Blizz store items etc. just people in town/country "X" could go to a local Blizzcon? The ticket prices would be far more than buying a flight to and from Anaheim and getting a hotel.

The only way they can make it work is if it is within "driving" distance of their offices.

It is impossible for them to hold a Blizzcon in every country in the world. If there was ever a country that deserved a Blizzcon it would be South Korea where Starcraft is a national sport, essentially like basketball in the US.

Just be grateful that they bother at all and don't throw their stuff into E3.

I wish Blizzard would have a couple of BlizzCon events in Canada. One in Vancouver and one in Toronto would be awesome! I know they insist on having all their employees take part, but Canadian players feel Blizz doesn't reach out to them and we are being ignored. If Blizz could even have an event in New York or Michigan I would go, as they are states that are close by.
