BlizzCon 2011 Announced!

What could be better than spending two days checking out the latest versions of Blizzard games, watching eSports tournaments, and chatting with developers alongside a few thousand of your closest friends? We couldn't think of anything either, so we're bringing BlizzCon back in 2011! That's right, BlizzCon will be returning to the Anaheim Convention Center on Friday, October 21 through Saturday, October 22, and will feature an exciting mix of discussion panels, tournaments, hands-on gameplay, contests, and much more. Check out the announcement press release, and keep an eye on www.blizzcon.com in the months ahead for further details, including ticketing information.

the local fox news ran a story on blizzcon yesterday, and made it sound more like a fetish party. apparently it's a meeting place where people can dress up as their favorite video game character and meet up with people they've met online and "fall in love"
i lul'd

I've attended every Blizzcon and this will be the first one I miss. It really isn't worth it anymore. The crowds are outrageous.

I tried to attend last year's Blizzcon, but with the very small number of tickets available, was unable. We were hoping Blizzard would increase the venue to allow more of us to attend. 5000 tickets for a company and industry this large is just ridiculous! Perhaps Las Vegas would be a better choice for the future.

@Beltaiin: dont know what year you looked at that you managed to get 5000 as your figure. the last three blizzcons have increased in numbers to about 20,000 attendees.
No, not everyone that wants to go will be able to go, but the same thing goes with concerts and sports games.

Super excited for this! Too bad I'll be in Japan at that time! Excited to see what Blizz has in store for the upcoming years. Warcraft IV?? That would be EPIC. That's a game I've been dreaming for, for a while now. You rock Blizzard!

@Ixelixes: Warcraft 4 is called world of warcraft... Wow takes place after WC3. So a warcraft 4 would pretty much be WoW in warcraft 3 play style and not online outside of battle.net.

@Felladin: Yes, this is obviously the only option.

They could very easily do a new RTS called Warcraft 4, that starts at the end of whatever WoW expansion they're on and significantly carries the story forward. This would be an interesting way to bring around a WoW2. WoW 1.5 leads to Warcraft 4. A new expansion hits that is WoW 1.6 that resolves some leftover stuff from 4 and then leads into WoW 2.

I'm not saying that's at all their plan, but to imply that there is "only one option" is kind of dumb.

Went last two years and had a blast. Travelled all the way from Fremantle, Western Australia and both times the 24hour flight proved worth it. But I think I'm giving it a miss this year. Going to go next year.

If you really wanted to go, you would find a way.
Just like anything else.
Stop whining to Blizzard about every little thing, I live on the east coast and I'm not complaining because I know Blizzard has many reasons (It's where they're based for one), and it's not like they do it to spite us.
Gets old guys. It's only blizzcon, go if you want, or don't.
