Cenarion Hatchling for Japan Earthquake Relief

Cenarion Hatchling for Japan Earthquake Relief

Introducing the latest World of Warcraft companion up for adoption in the online Pet Store: the wild and noble Cenarion Hatchling! This little critter is the twin of the rare Hippogryph Hatchling pet players could randomly encounter in the first World of Warcraft Trading Card Game set, Heroes of Azeroth -- and he's emerged from the forests of Azeroth to lend a helping talon to some friends in need. For every Cenarion Hatchling purchased between now and July 31, 100% of the $10 USD adoption fee will be donated to the American Red Cross's Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami relief efforts. This support will enable the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, emotional support, and other assistance to victims of this disaster.

@Callîope: Do you not see how there's a bit of a scale difference between 20,000+ dead and 150?

@Kyira: Wow, you're comparing body counts?? Death is death. People died and all you want to do is compare body counts and forget about the one with the less.

@Kyira: death is death no matter what, but i understand wat ur saying, that the tsunami was more severe that than the tornados. but maybe blizz can make a pet to donate to those of Joplin. by the way, did people forget about tornados in alabama/missisipi, flooding in lousiana, and a bunch of other natural disasters.

@Lecter: Did he say anywhere in his post that he wanted to forget about the people affected by the tornadoes this season? No. Unfortunately the amount of people affected is a factor when considering how much aid to send, or when deciding to dedicate a percentage of proceeds from your business to relief causes.

I would imagine with the Red Cross and National Guard and other relief organizations here, on-hand, in America the victims of the tornadoes are going to be taken care of and not be forgotten. Re-building an entire country devasted by natural disasters and Nuclear Meltdowns is a little different.

I'm sorry you're ignorant enough to believe otherwise.

Should do a pet for the people in America like the tornado crisis, that I would buy not to be a *%@%* to Japan.

Wow, I can't believe how disgustingly selfish some people are being. You would think, that if you've lived through a natural disaster yourself, you'd want to help MORE because you can sympathize.

And I want to put some perspective on something for those throwing a hissyfit: Joplin, MO's tornado wiped out roughly 130-170 people (I haven't looked at the death count in the past couple of days) , the death toll from the Japanese Earthquake/Tsunami disaster killed between 18,000 and 20,000 people. Not to mention, it literally destroyed huge chunks of their country, and the nuclear power plant meltdowns have sent their entire country into disarray.

The US is stable enough (barely, I know, but still) to help their citizens rebuild and to give aid to the towns here hit by tornadoes, and the Red Cross and other organizations are helping them rebuild as well.

Right now, Japan's entire COUNTRY is in crisis. Not a handful of towns. And also, consider the fact that we are a much larger country, with a LOT more to give to each other and help with, than they are.

I'm sorry, but I am more than proud to stand up and help Japan, and I wouldn't care if that pet was the most hideous thing on the planet, I'd be buying it. Because I believe that helping others is what we were put here to do, and that we need to have more compassion in our lives, or we are doomed to destroy each other.

@Hellishmage: We are donating to help Japan. Agreed Africa is a scary place, in part because most of the money donated in that direction ends up lining the pockets of greedy dictators who themselves along with the opposing rebel groups are the real cause of that misery. Perhaps the awful devastation that has befallen Japan somehow escaped you. The Japanese did not bring this on themselves and they are attempting to bear the damage as much as possible on their own. Perhaps Africa could learn that lesson. Japan deserves every bit of assistance we can give them.

I so dearly love Japan and all the wonderful people there. I am very glad that Blizzard has the kindness to contribute to the great effort that will be needed to bring things back to normal there. I am proud that I can through playing my favorite game be able to do something even though it isn't much compared to what will eventually be needed to help. The Japanese are the most resilient people in the world so I know that they will preserver. I wish I was in a position to do more for them but if we all combine our efforts in this way we might make something of a difference.

Wow, I'm suprised that so many people are complaining about how blizzard is only giving money to Japan, not the south with those floods and tornados, (If I'm wrong about where the disasters are, im sorry because i dont really look at the newspaper much or the news on tv) well at least blizzard isnt sitting on their asses all day long. I think if blizz actually bothered to make a charity, i think they would actually send send the money to the relief effort. Also, i know its sad how kids and adults alike are suffering in the south, thats why there are other relief efforts helping them. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD blizzard is NOT a CHARITY IT IS A VIDEO GAME COMPANY. Don't complain about how there are people suffering, i mean i know its very, very sad, but AT LEAST THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING to help people. 1 life in Japan saved to me is 1 life in the south saved. ALL HUMANS ARE CREATED EQUAL.
