@Fistalious: Why does it have to be one extreme or the other? World isn't black and white. For a rated BG, it makes sense to widen the pool to include same faction, even if lore gets thrown out the window as a result.

If your reffering to GW they don't own the name... other games have that feature also (PWI,FW,LOMA,AL,think cabel and many more) tho they call them Territory War's which could in theory work for WoW as well. Due to the fact that they have the whole Horde Vs. Alliance thing they could make it like a dailey quest in regions such as stranglethorn,Hillsbrad,SouthShore,and the plaguelands. You would have to kill a certain amount of horde players,guards,npc's.bosses/leaders,etc. Also having to do the whole capture the base thing,like they have/had in eastern plaguelands and hellfire peninsula. And lets not forget those gather this and that quests, rapidly followed by the interesting feature of earning earning rewards such as gear,weps,food/drink(Well? You gunna need it some day they sell it at arathi soo why not :D),reputation,tabards,aand achievements,and exp. All of these would be to YOUR level,Thus you level from (exampe) 30 to 35, You do the quest at 30 you get maybe 5k exp not too bad eh? do it at 35 u get 8.5k. This feature wouldn't be a way to actually level not in the least. But a way to get some honor points and what not without the wait for bg's,wg,arena's etc. And the somewhat best part is its an all level place with no "Seperate Level Area's". meaning that a lv85 will be in with a 50, But to help the lil 50 out they get a shout / buff of their faction reducing damage they take and deal to/from players depending on the player's level they are attacking.

@Khashir: yeah much deeper problem of what? the fact that some servers/battlegroups are lopsided in horde to alliance ratios?
only way to "fix" that without these "ad-hoc" solutions is to force faction changes on players to ensure balanced populations. and im sure you would love that.

it has nothing to do with alliance supposedly sucking in pvp. perhaps you are part of the problem? i win at least half of my bg's. i am alliance. mindboggling i know, but it does happen.

also of importance here, is that this is RATED bg. so the assumption can be made that it is more serious players involved.

@Kitsindorei: uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh people definitely do not mind the 25min games. Why would they join a group if they wanted to? People start rated BG groups because they are FUN. If people dont join them because they are too long, then they are the people who dont play rated BGs. I dont see how your point is a good one, do you think its the only way people can get points? Implementing faction vs faction was a brilliant idea made by blizzard because it decreases average que times.

@Kitsindorei: You sir just wasted alot of bandwidth.The only issue is that rated teams do not like taking either undergeared or poor players .Or maybe its a battlegroup issue . Blizzard is hiring so since you want to give out advice maybe you can apply for a job and actually make a difference instead of just wasting peoples time .

I meant Regular BG's, becuase the rated BG's ARE the topic here... my bad i made that one kinda confusing, but i meant RATED BG's being more like and arena or bloodsport. my bad
