First Batch of BlizzCon Tickets On Sale This Saturday

First Batch of BlizzCon Tickets On Sale This Saturday

Just a reminder: If you're interested in attending this year's BlizzCon in Anaheim, California, the first batch of tickets goes on sale this Saturday, May 21 at 10 a.m. PT through the online Blizzard Store. If you can't be online at that time or if tickets sell out before you have a chance to snag some, don't worry -- you'll have more opportunities to attend. A second batch of tickets will be going on sale Wednesday, May 25 at 7 p.m. PT, and tickets to a special pre-BlizzCon charity dinner to benefit Children's Hospital of Orange County will be going on sale Saturday, May 28 at 10 a.m. PT.

For more information on purchasing tickets to this year's BlizzCon, visit the official event website at www.blizzcon.com.

I love how 10 minutes after the ticket went on sale one person on eBay had 40 tickets for sale. Blizzard should really make the tickets non transferable, where at least if someone buys 4 tickets, that one person has to show up with the other 3 to get in.

So I have been to Blizzcon 3 years in a row now, and I wont even attempt to hit the queue this year. Why pay $175 to see the same things, experience the same sore feet, deal with finding a hotel etc when the entire thing can be viewed online "real time" or direct tv for a fraction of the price and you can chillax in your own air conditioned house. And no, the goodie bag items are a far cry worth the effort and expense of attending.....not to mention the line, oh that horrid line to get your ticket.

@Nerieana: So I guess I don't understand your logic of attending not 1, not 2, but 3 different times and just now realizing that it wasn't your cup of tea? Perhaps you just grew tired of the same old scene at BlizzCon? Many people have never gone and would love the opportunity to go. I have been every year except 2005 and I still like it. Perhaps the online stream was meant for people like yourself.

@Nerieana: I had tons of fun last year. It's only $25 more. So skip out on a couple trips to mcdonalds. Picking up our tickets took about 10 minutes, not bad at all IMO.

I might go. I'm from Boston, but could stay with my cousin in Cali. Ticket prices are a bit steep. I guess I'll find out if it's worth it.

Those who order the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket will also receive this year’s BlizzCon-exclusive World of Warcraft® and StarCraft II in-game items (availability may vary by region), to be revealed at a later date.

hmm..just noticed you can't edit your own posts anymore? Tried to correct some typos...other game forums are doing that now too....WTF is the point of such decisions like that I wonder? Seems stupid you can't fix your own mistakes in a post (or waste forum server space because you have to write new ones instead).

I won't say its crazy for everyone else to spend that kind of money on blizzcon, because A) its YOUR money not mind and B) you aren't me and vice versa. Some people are extremely into Blizzcon to the point others will say its ridiculous (I have to admit I lean in that direction of thought myself...but again to each their own) to those folks they'd probably shell out twice the amount per ticket.

To me though -- its not just the ticket price, I'm an east coaster so that means airfare and lodging expenses too. If I lived near where Blizzcon is held I'd probably go since I could just go home each day afterwards.

I get the internet stream and that suffices me. Last year btw, I'm soo glad I didn't go in person -- I thought last year's blizz con really sucked, it barely was worth the $40 for the stream to be honest.

Im not sure why everyone is QQing about the price, I went last year and it is so worth it, especially if you meet your guildmates! $175 is nothing!

@Bullshiite: your guildmates are not real people the are paid actors from blizzard to make you feel like your having some sort of social contact in your worthless life.

I went last year. It was ok, but I would rather just watch it from home. Not worth all the travel expenses involved, plus the over-priced ticket. I did enjoy meeting people that i play with IRL.

in this case $39.99 > $175.00

175? are you out of your bloody minds! unless they start offering more goodies for the people that go, no one's gonna pay that ###*... seriously, that's just stupid. I have money, but I'm not interested in shelling out 25 more each year... sorry blizzard, not worth it.

In this economy, $175? Are you kidding me? In 2008, the price was $100. 2009, $125. 2010? $150! And now in 2011 it's gone up yet another $25??!? I've been to two, and I didn't see anything to justify the increased prices, and I highly doubt there will be anything this year to justify another drastic jump ... other than greed. I've defended Blizzard so much over the years, but this is really getting out of control. Milk the populace, yo!
