Patch 4.2.0A Official Notes

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm patch 4.2.0A is now available on all realms! Below you'll find the official patch notes.

Bug Fixes

  • Using an instant cast spell right after a target dies should no longer re-target the dead target’s body.
  • Using an ability immediately after switching targets should no longer affect the previous target.
  • Resolved a movement error when jumping onto an object while experiencing a low frame rate.
  • Mac: Fixed a bug preventing shift and mouse wheel commands from registering properly.
  • Resolved issues that were causing client crashes near Beth’tilac in the Firelands.
  • Disconnecting while riding as a passenger in a vehicle should no longer cause an error upon subsequent login.
  • Entering a password with Japanese Hiragana selected as the keyboard type should no longer cause a crash.
  • Resolved an issue that was causing the client to crash under certain conditions when minimizing the game client.
  • Items
    • The tooltip color for heirloom items has been returned to gold.
  • Quests
    • A move enforcement issue has been resolved that was affecting the death knight starting area quest Death Comes From on High.
    • Tarecgosa's platform during the cutscene from Alignment (Elemental Bonds legendary quest) should now be visible before she lands on it.

I dont like the all =class thing i main they should all do the same dps and all but i miss the day when in a raid you needed all classes and not just 5dks a priest 2 pallys to get it done. Fact is by making classes = your taking all the strat out of wow

Sure, 2's isn't balanced but it's about trying new combonations. I Tried a 2's with a rogue and got smashed by a Frost and Unholy DK. Then i Tried again with a Warrior and we ended up CC'ing one and killing the other in about 13 seconds. Its kinda impossible to make every class equal or to make 2's function the way 3's or 5's is, but if you try different combinations then you'll see what classes benefit the others. Stop QQ'ing

yo meat stop complaing my 2's team is me and a rouge and we dont have problems with priests maybe u need to get better @ playin your toon then u wont have a problem

@Zerostatic: if u read my post right i said when thier is 1 dps and 1 healer.. your a DK u said rogue partner thats 2dps on 1 healer yes then they would die fast

2v2 seems like it consist of who has the best healer now days. i was face against a mage/priest combo with a pali healer i joined with and the match was me chasing the priest around trying to hurt him"[which is imposable to do as a rogue who can only crit for 15-20K maybe 25 if im lucky on someone with no res"] while the mage made me "slow" with its dam frost !@#$'s.and YEA needless to say priest are impossable to kill 1v1 in a 2v2 match with 1 dps and 1 healer per team. make us hit harder or nerf the priest bubble/shield/heals

@Mystörymeat: first of all, Mage/priest, you just CC one and kill the other, if you dont know how to CC its your own dam fault so stop complaining, and 2nd rogues already hit plenty hard and the highest rated teams all have rogues or pallys in them so again lrn2play

I know this sounds a lil off beat BUT I WANT BLIZZ TO LET U SOLO THE )(&$#)*#&$(_*&$*_(@#ING Title BLOODSAIL Admiral again.. its now impossable to kill booty bay gaurds to lower your rep when they have 464K health at lvl 85 and tehy respawn INSTANTLY!!!! WTF now u need an army to get 1 tittles i was able to solo on my DK in the Linch King content. Really lame !@#$ to have instantly spawning gaurds who can hit u for over 100k at a time..:( HATE this idea of 85 cap 80 seemd much more fair and even in pve/pvp

@Alargegoatse: LMFAO!!! ok I do agree with Armorian. The 1st thing you EVER see is "he's op! I'm nerfed!" but the fact you commented on a mage is hilarious since they're suppose to be numero-uno with being over powered (I avoid PvP so I have no opinion of it)

@Regosh: i say give blink a 15 sec cd cuz its not fair because you stun then they blink, you stun then again (iceblock)-(crost nove) blink.

@Regosh: Um Blink does have a CD. And if you 'Big tough' platies cant solo kill a clothie, then I'm afraid either the Mage is better than you or your not very good. Blink is not OP.

@Corilan: Sure because a 15 second gap maker which is also a 15 second free trinket, especially after taking Intercept away and only giving me 1 root every 30 second, which did i mention, can be blinked out of every time, is definitely not a balance issue, its player skill. And just to salt the wound, lets give them a 3 second sprint once they have made the gap.

well, for a change... i didn't have any problems with these patches... I guess i'm lucky, or im just a rational thinker. if you think about it, classes get nerfed because of them being op. and please dont say crap about how arcane mages are great dps and never get nerfed. Because first of all they were nerfed and second, you people only see high dps because of the simplicity of their class, and the truth is their optimal rotation is easy, but if you take them and compare them to any other dps class they will at least pull even if they are both played optimaly. so yeah. look at the nerfs and ask yourself if it was correct that they nerfed that and 90% of the time its right to nerf the class blizzard decides to nerf.

Thats where your wrong. Mages dont need extra stuns. They are already op. Im at a class where I cant beat mages. (Frost mages atleast). And resto shamans are a pain. Anyone here if they dont play a resto shaman would agree with me.

@Broôklyn: Come on...I know NYC has heard of SARCASM...Also, if Mages could have one more way of breaking out of a stun caused by everyone else, i.e. another free trinket like ability, that would make things totally fair.

@Darchrow: how do u consider that paladin is un-nerfed me personaly i think it has been shafted ardent defender was a proc not u have to hit a button to activate it holy shield dose not give as big a buff as it use to be i can name other things the rotation is clunky i meen if i wanted to play a warrior i would have made one

@Darchrow: because paladins are so un-nerfed why do i have to watch my judgement Cd just so i can get some scruby mana back just so i can get 1` heal out of it? it's not like blizz likes to put spirit on my gear either, and yet every patch they increase the mana cost of my heals.
