Firelands Raid Changes Incoming

With the final showdown against Deathwing approaching, we’ve been keeping a close eye on players' progress through the current Firelands raid content. Before patch 4.3 is released, we want groups who are working on Heroic-difficulty content to be able to get as close to Ragnaros as possible, and we want players who are tackling normal progression to be able to experience as many of the encounters as they can. To achieve these goals, we’ll be toning down the difficulty of both normal and Heroic raids through hotfixes in the coming weeks. In general, we plan to reduce health and damage of all raid bosses in both normal and Heroic Firelands by around the same percentage we brought difficulty down for the original Cataclysm raids when Rage of the Firelands (patch 4.2) was released.

We're looking forward to seeing more groups of players face off against the firelord in the weeks ahead. However, before we make these changes, we want to give everyone a final shot at the bosses at their current difficulty level -- so this is a heads up that we’re planning to apply the difficulty hotfixes beginning the week of September 19.

heres the thing firelands just sux id rather wipe on DS heroics then firelands normal. firelands its you spend so much time and gold repairing buffing and rewipen bc blizz dont see that becuase ds is out fl is barely raided anymore its needs to be nerfed or at least make the quests soloable no longer needing to do the place rouges pay 10k heck id farm n pay 40k to get past doing wipe fest fl plz nerf this chain quest or let us buy our way arround it

as for myself i would like to see a raid finder for evr raid out and not just a 25man raid. as on my sever it is very hard to get a random raid going as when you spend all that time looking for people if they fail on the 1st boss everbody leaves. as far as the gear goes i think there should be a full tier set for just casual players like myself since finding raidss on my sever sucks.i have been on many random runs in fl with randoms and havent downed one boss. got close but close dont get it. grats to those that are in a guild that have downed the bosses of fl in reg or heroic but for those of us who arnt as lucky to be in such a guild or a sever with good raider,s quit crying becase blizz wants other,s to get in the fun blizz needs a 10 man and 25man raid finder for all raids. with the achievement for those raids. come join my sever for a while and try to get a wotlk raid going let alone a fl or ds. good luck

Blizz is only worried about numbers. And keeping subs. And they've nerfed FL's so severe, that people are going to start getting bored really, really fast. And that's never a good thing. Hey blizz, challenge isn't a bad thing. Keeping challenge is also not a bad thing. Take it easy with the nerf bat.

I'm not for or against the nerf but 25% is quite a bit...I mean when you have groups going in and ROTFL while killing bosses and i mean that literally than it is WAY to easy.

Honestly, I dont think its possible, but if there could be a "pre nerf difficulty mode: setting AND a "post nerf difficulty setting" that might make everyone happy. Me personally would rather experience content than bost about how hard it was, although the challenge makes it more fun(provided your group is actually coherent). Im looking forward to this nerf actually, because since my college semester started I dont have time to devote to a weekly raid schedual and have since been unable to even set foot back into Firelands, so its my hope Ill be able to join some PUGs and actually have some degree of success.

On a more positive note, I LOVE that my paladin will have tier 13 and the scrub pallies on the server won't ever get it. Well, until Blizz nerfs Deathwing too. :(

I think so many people are so fast to spout of about things they dont understand. Seriously if u are in an average or better guild u have downed Rag on normal by now. Heroic Rag maybe a nerf was or wasnt a good idea for the hard core raiders, but when the largest number of players cant do the fight changes need to be made. I realy wish people would just let blizz do there job and quit whining about every little thing that comes along. This game is 7 yes 7 years old and still brings fun and excitement every few months, and has a great fan base so blizzard must know what there doing. Granted i dont like all there changes, and on occasion they have made a few mistakes that they have changed. So if they think we need to get geared faster for Deathwing and throw a nerf enjoy it and farm the !@#$ out of the FL bosses and get ready for a great new teir and raid. TY Blizz for the awesomest game ever. Keep up the great work lifetime customer here.

@Cryllonn: The only boss, besides heroic that people were having troubles on was Rag, he's the only one that should have been nerfed, no heroics should have been nerfed. I just wonder how pissed off the actual good guilds are that downed heroic Rag before all of this. Granted, I guess that's why Blizz has achievements, since those are nothing but an epeen filter anyhow.

@Andorea: The good guilds should feel very proud of themselves being as there achievement will be dated proir nerf. All through WOTLK my main was first in line to down bosses. Never once did i feel that anything was taken from me when they nerfed the LK and average to noob players started downing him, i was just happy that when my guild wasnt running i could get my alts into pugs that actually were doing bosses. Like i said heroic mode maybe shouldnt have got a nerf since it is heroic. I have not downed him on heroic on none of my toons. Yes i would of kept going the way it was till i got him but now it will just happen faster.

@Cryllonn: Most good gamers think the way you do and I agree. It's been my experience that those who need the constant validation of being the first to do something in an online game or need some way to say, "I'm GOD! Look at me!!" online is because in real life they're very mediocre; they're the only ones complaining about the nerf. They believe that they're less because others have the achievement albeit the nerfed version and it robs them of their own feeling of superiority. No one will ever change their mind.

I'm not opposed to nerfing content, I just think this is a little soon. It would be nice to see a solid 5-6 months before that like they did with ther Tier 11 stuff but its whatever.

This is how I see it, every hardcore player is now crying because of this nerf and every casual player is now rejoicing for this nerf, you hardcore players had your chance to shine and you did it perfectly, now it's our turn to shine, so step off the block and move-on and let us shine once more, I hate how every ignorant hardcore kid, or even adults, who freakin' cry about this nerf, do so, it is a game and not your life, get over it, you're not the only ones who pay $14.99 a month or more. I love raiding content without nerfs aswell, it gives you a good feeling inside when you down that new boss you've worked your butt off to kill. So it's easier to kill a new progression boss..so what, get over it. YOU all need to remember something, you're not the only person playing this game, there are another 11,999,999 of us playing this game as well. So please, back the heck off, and quit your crying, it's our time to shine now, you've had your turn.

I am so tired of all of these stuck up (hardcore players), not all of them, but most QQ'ing about this nerf. If you are hardcore, you should have cleared fl already norm and heroic. Shut ur face, or should i say, superglue ur keyboard so we don't have to hear u /cry. Yes I understand u all worked hard for ur gear but cmon, be quiet and let the casual raiders get the gear. I do agree with all of the comments about n00bs who want to be carried thru ever bit of content.

@Smackthatas: And if you were a raider at all you wouldn't have to wait for a nerf to get in firelands and down !@#$ in firelands like most of the people who are %^-*!ing about this nerf ARE DOING! It's not the fact that we arent in heroics, it's the fact that people who don't belong in raid, wether it be not performing, having the right buffs, knowing their class, knowing the boss fights BEFORE they get to the raid that is the problem. And Blizz tends to side with you people, because, unfortunately, it's way easier being lazy than it is to do stuff for yourself.

@Andorea: And now blizz is just making it easier for the "casual" raiders, if you will, to down everything in firelands and then say, "Oh, this is easy, I'm going to run heroics." Just for them to get in a group, geared, just like GOOD players that get screwed over because a scrub has the same gear as them and there is absolutely no way to differentiate between the two other than the name. Nerfs in the middle of a tier are pure stupidity. I can't wait for Skyrim!

@Andorea: I raid 2 nights a week, AT MOST when im not working both those nights, and when other tanks are not online in my guild. I have a 370 ilvl, without pvp gear. I am in no way a hardcore player. Yet I have downed 6/7 Firelands on a consistant basis on a server that is not known for their PUGs if you catch my drift. The reason I have downed 6/7 is so few hours a week? EASY! I know my class, I know the fights, I know my spec, I know EVERYTHING I need to know and I come prepared every single time I get invited to a raid, flasks, buff foods, fully repaired. I do not in any way slow down a raid because I'm too lazy to find these things out myself. THAT ALONE is what differentiates a raider from a non raider. If you have to have people go over a boss fight for you before a pull, you are not a raider.

@Andorea: How did you know the fights before you do the content? Do you check online and watch the vids about that encounter? If so, then you're following on someone else's efforts. I prefer to do the encounters first time out, without reading about what others did, but that's how I enjoy playing the game - first out of the box. My point is, you play your way, I'll play mine because we both pay for the privilege of doing that. Except I do it without calling those who don't game my way, names such as 'scrubs' or 'you people'. I also come to each group encounter, whether raid or 5-man, on toons - either my raiders or alts - always fully prepared with flasks, food, repaired and the appropriate spec. That's just SOP for most of us, surprised you said that that's what differentiates raiders from non-raiders since for most of us, it's what we do without it being noteworthy. Different strokes as they say!

This nerf is STUPID! A lot of guilds on every server were 6/7 pre-nerf. Why not just nerf RAGNAROS a LITTLE bit and keep everything how it was. Personally, I'm not a hardcore raider, I shouldn't have the same gear a person raiding 20 hours a week has. Let me tell the people who are defending this nerf this, since you are talking about RL stuff up in here.

If you worked at McDonalds should you still be able to afford a Lamborghini (SP?) or Ferrari just because the doctor who has taken the time and effort to BE a doctor has one? Kthx, debate closed.

@Keathluas: If people learned the boss instead of relying on the geared, raiders to run them through they wouldn't be crying about how hard Firelands is, therefore only Rag would have been nerfed, not everything. I got the 4.2 firelands patch the same day everyone else did. You point is invalid. :)

@Andorea: who's "relying on geared raiders to run them through"?? kinda confusing me on that one. you run with your GUILD, ya? THEY decide who comes and who doesnt. No, my friend.. it's YOUR fault if you have people in your raid being carried... no one elses. and sorry.. but that has NOTHING to do with content being nerfed.. only your own stupidity for taking people to a raid that don't know fights and cant pull their weight.

@Andorea: Not all realms are the same. Obviously some realms are behind like yours if you only have 6/7 done. Our realm has been on heroic mode for some time now, and I guess that's why Blizz decided to make it easier for the rest of the population to participate as well in the FL raids. So?
