Mage Tier 13 and Visual Retrospective

Adventurers will be tested like never before in 4.3 as they take on Deathwing and his minions, emerging with powerful new treasures. Please enjoy this preview of the mage tier 13 set, as well as a visual guide to tiers 1 through 12 for Transmogrification purposes.

Timelord Regalia

It’s fun to put a spin on any caster class that moves it away from the usual wizardly archetype, and this set provided the perfect opportunity to do just that. Gnomish clockwork technology is an established part of the Warcraft universe, but it’s not something we’ve incorporated into a tier of player armor before. The combination of moving cogs, quilted fabric, and lots of buckled straps give the set an intriguing "techno-mage" flavor.

It looks like leather... not quilted fabric. (Shamans also look like leather, when they're supposed to be mail, and druids look more clothy than leather.. /sigh). And it doesn't look magey. Do not like.

The upward-facing goggles aren't doing it for me. This is mage gear, can't something be... floating? Somewhere? That would probably seal the deal. Otherwise this looks pretty decent.

This set is aimed to please: Gnome Mages, Goblin Mages, Doctor Who fans, mages who took engineering, people who enjoy that there's technology and magic on Azeroth, and people who understand that Blizz doesn't draw each tier set specifically for them.
Haters gonna hate, doesn't matter if you don't like how it looks if you don't have a mage, and if you're a Mage who doesn't like it, transmog. There. Problem? What problem?

I really like this, though have to admit I didn't pick up the gear theme until I read the description. The only thing that really stands out is the goggles, and only when you see them from a certain angle. The quilting really makes the top piece stand out from the bottom and gives the suit more character than the fully unified pieces, which in my mind are kind of boring. Plus I like that the face is visible.

@Tend: I do think "Timelord" should have been saved for a raid including the Infinite flight, but minor point.

Butt fugly. Terrible. All of T13 so far is horrible except warrior. I'm sooooo glad they are introducing Transmog. Anyone not using transmog with this hideous set will be laughed off the streets for looking so ugly.

@Zabre: Your opinion =! everyone's opinion. Now, one can say that everyone can laugh YOU off the street for not mogging it. But again, you opinion. So far, I like all of the sets for their own visual style.

Stop with the dresses!, gah; there ARE cloth pants too you know (ie Tier 5). There is only just so much cool patterns can accomplish. Everyone google Lu Bu Dynasty Warriors. Check out how the top piece flares out over the pants. We need more structural changes to armor, not just patterns.

Logged in to say how much I like the simplicity this has.
It looks like cloth (padding), but it makes it look distinctly poqwerful, the hood likes nice. (Are those flashlights lol?)
All in all, I'm impressed with this one.

Absolute worst gear set I have seen in this game so far. Thank you for transmogrification. Are you guys trying to force me out of this game? Can I have the pink unicorn suit back please? I hope someone gets fired for this crap. I will likely be rocking tier 6 or offset pieces like the warlock t5 set. Thanks for nothing blizz.

You have no idea how jealous I am, that the set is called "Timelord".
However! Super happy that I have a Mage alt, who gets to have this eventually.

*lovingly insert several Doctor Who jokes here."
