Live Mists of Pandaria Developer Q&A Thursday

This Thursday, October 27, we’ll be hosting a one-hour live online developer Q&A with Lead Content Designer Cory “Mumper” Stockton and Lead Systems Designer Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street, beginning at 5:00 p.m. PDT. I’ll be moderating the discussion to help facilitate a smooth and productive conversation. Given all the information revealed last weekend at BlizzCon 2011, we feel it’s fitting for this chat to be focused on the next expansion, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria.

While we’ve held some developer “chats” in the past, we’re going to be using CoverItLive for this event. We welcome anyone to join us for the chat, but in order to participate you’ll want to visit the official CoverItLive website beforehand to create an account -- it only takes a few moments. The Q&A itself, however, will take place on the front page of our website with the CoverItLive platform embedded in a blog.

Once the chat goes live, all you have to do is log into the CoverItLive client embedded on our front page, ask any question relating to Mists of Pandaria, and read along as the developers field as many questions as they can. This will be a moderated chat, meaning your questions will only initially be seen by the developers. If selected, your question will be published for all to see, and an answer will be provided. We ask that you keep the questions as concise as possible and understand that we won’t be able to get to all of them. We’ll be choosing questions based on the information we can reasonably provide, and what kinds of answers we feel will be the most compelling for the entire audience. Questions can no longer be submitted once the chat ends, but you’ll still be able to review a transcript of the questions and answers that were posted.

We’ll be taking note of what works and what doesn’t during this Thursday’s chat, as we hope to make CoverItLive our standard tool for facilitating live developer Q&A sessions going forward. Join us this Thursday at 5:00 p.m. and let’s all work to make this a successful discussion between players and developers!

Why the sudden changes to mage burst damage my iv always played Arcane now i feel i must go frost just to compete in my 25-man raid. Dps has dropped like a rock.

Question somewhere in the future in the upcoming patch is there any plans to add a 2 way portal between VoEB and faction capital cities, such as Stormwind and Orgrimmar?

Are you guys also considering adding an Auction House in VoEB as well in future?

This has nothing to do with MoP...But why don't y'all make like a private vanilla server...To bring it back to the days when the game was fun.I'm just stating this as a opinion.This game has lost so many people,ever sence Cata and MoP came out.
Q: Why don't y'all make a Private 60 and 70's relm.For people that missed out on Vanilla and B.C.Everyone would pay good money;if y'all brought it back.

Question: I bought the digital copy online, so I don't know, but after pandarians leave pandaria will they ever come back? I think they should, such a petty place--would have loved to at least come back every 5-10 lvls (for more training or questing)---just an idea :)

iv got a question for you blizzard if you could adress this live on stage im sure everyone of the players out there would like you to adress this as well, Is mop going to be the last expansion and why is the level cap 95 if so when so many other games have a cap of 100, what are your expectations with mop as far as what do you hope to see by releasing this expanion into the wow comunity?

I got a good idea how about blizzard you make the next expansion call "The Depths Of Azeroth" And it wil be about the unexplored oceans and there will be 2 new races the Naga and the Aqua Bears. :)

Blizzard, you guys should make a bear race, like the special ability would be like a warrior's charge, and the race would be called, the Bearia, kinda like the Draeni, but if you could please make another new race next expansion, which is like 3-4 years from now. Thanks A lot!!! :)

Blizz I mean I like pandaira but I think you went overboard with the glyphs even though I love them! But also can you change the mana thing? Not liking that change.... but Im going to love getting a cloud serpent!

When I heard there was a new expansion coming I did not expect this..... Ive kinda wanted somthing like the Emeraled Dream or somthing where you can have a dragon race :P I love Mop but the mana thing ..... not digging it :/

Sorry for any Dyslexic.I work herd to get the GOLD for them Relic that you take away from Us.lit say today you go out and you see a something you like to have (A cell).So you go out and get a job and work herd and lond time to get that cell at $200.00 for it .You have to work about 80 hr to get it at $8.00 a hr..You have (gas) (car) and bill to puy so you work Herd and lond for that cell and you get it and you have it now .But there a new law now you cant ues it any moer so what can you do.YOU bean it back to the Store but thay cant take it back no $$ back $200.00 is alot of moey.
Q NOW DO YOU FEE WOW can you put yourslaf here buying that cell but cant ues it now.That how I fee you give me a Relic and off hand but you take it away I work hred for it and puy alot of GOLD for that Relic it just like that Cell

@Dennromi: I agree that at first hand it may seem harsh to remove the equipment slots for relics and other similar items but it is a consequence of Blizzard's new MoP architecture. As a Holy Priest, I remember the days when I used to use my wand when I was out of mana while leveling. Oh boy did that save the day! I have an 85 DK as well and even though we lost a bit of health, we still gained a crap load of mastery. Try to look at other things that you gained as well :)

Sorry for any Dyslexic.I like to konw y we dont got no moer off hand and Relic?my Relic have +10 to Attributes.but it gon now ty blizzard.Ues to have 65.876 in Health and now im donw to 54.987 ty for that and were the Gold i puy for that Relic.I puy alot of Gold fot it but you take it away from Us you take away off hand and our Relic that help our toon out.Now he suck TY blizzard.It like you come in AND HACK ME BY TAKEING MY SUFF AWAY FROM ME..!!!AND MY GOLD I PUY AT THE AH FOR THAT RELIC'''S!!!I have alot of Relic i got from the AH.That i puy alot of GOLD for Ty for takeing them away form me bilzzrd

i must say there are many things that irk me with this expansion but the worst of all is the fact that all warriors have the avatar ability now. it is a complete betrayal of the lore and there are no excuses. avatar is a dwarf only ability that only a few among them can master, the pocess of which includes meditating for three days at dwarven ancestral areas such a Bael modan. now to think that any frail elf or brainless mangy worgen can activate this ability is extremely frustrating and lame.

i see people complaining about the talent tree and the game "becoming cookie cutter" but all i see on the web is people telling you this is the best way to play your class, these are the talents you need, these are the glyphs you use, and everyone does that. If you don't then when you are in a random group and you are trying your own combination of talents and such everyone has a snarky comment or just tell you you are crap or kick you from the group cause your enchants are wrong or not the best and most expensive yet. So remember your comments here next time you want to slam someone for not playing theier toon "The right way".

@Vedoramor: I agree with this in the sense that choices are made by what kind of play style you adopt. Builds can be similar but if someone had a problem with the way I was spec'd, geared, gemmed and enchanted, they seriously did not understand my underlying choices.

Just want to suggest, now that hunters can shoot people in the face and losing melee weapons, how about giving hunters handguns or hand-xbows...
Does not have to come in two pieces though, it can be made to just appear as dual-wielding in animation.

Just for coolness, nothing more ^_^
