This is a wonderful thing you are doing and I am proud of you blizzard. I agree with others though that you should come up with something everyone can afford like pets or mounts. I would love to help but can't afford much.

My mother passed away from cancer in 2000. My father passed away in 2004 from cancer. My 7 yr old niece was diagnosed with Leukemia in December 2010. My 2nd cousin who is only 5 was diagnosed with Lymphoma back in April of this year. Thank you, Blizzard for doing this for all of those tormented by this horrible disease and other diseases, as well. I /kneel down to you guys. :)

Great job blizzard, just bummed you guys are already sold out as far as the North America store goes (Thats a good thing, that means folks are helping, just wish there were more) maybe make a pet or mount as well... All donations going towards St. Judes as well!! for some of us, server blades at over $150 a pop isn't possible, but a $10 mount or pet is! I would love to help, please add something we can all afford PLEASE!!!!

Little late to the responses, not only do these look amazing, but the fact that the cash goes to St. Jude's hospital is amazing.

Thank you so much WoW for what you're doing. 8 years ago when I lived in PA my friends younger brother died of cancer. I've gone to houses that help families with children in hospitals to help however I can with my father, mother, and younger brother. I've donated to St. Judes. But, this, is just great. I love seeing when companies like you step up and do somthing completly different! Thank you so much. You'll see my realm bring in the biggest donation! :) <3 Bronzebeard

Ty blizz for supporting this cause. I myself just have gotten out of the hospital today and log on for the very first week of no wow, and to see this on the message board i am very pleased, to see that blizz is supporting this cause. As myself i do have a rare blood disorder (Factor V Leiden) this is only passed on from heradity i didnt find this out until after i recieved my diagnosi. after i got my diagnosis i had my daughter checked for the same blood disorder and my daughter also has the same blood disorder but far as me and my fmaily knows of is she is only a carrier that we know of for now. I had my first blood clot at the age of 30 and now my 2nd blood clot 7 years later at the age of 37, as for myself i dont know what kind of help i can still receive for this but i do support for the children of hoping that one day, that we can over come the goals of defeating life threatining illnesses. and to give the next generation of the future a better way of life

On behalf of my family, i'd like to thank you. My sister has a genetic disorder called Exostosis, a disorder in which a new bone can form on the surface of any bone already in her body. The doctors at saint Jude performed 5 surgeries on her to remove numerous bones. Since my father died from getting agent orange in Vietnam, and my mom has to raise two kids on her own, these doctors made her pay a small fraction, considering we had no health insurance. While i was there the doctors also told me the story of a young boy who had this same disorder, in which he had a bone the size of a baseball under his shoulder blade. Thank you blizz for supporting what this hospital is doing and contributing to a beautiful thing. You have no idea what this meant to my sister when i showed it to her. Thank you so much

Lookup blade server on google images. A blade is roughly equivalent to a complete computer. It apparently took 4 blades to run a realm. All 4 of those blades ran in 1 box. the 4 blades worked together to create the 'seamless' environment we all know and love. Since parts of the realm can go down independently 1 is probably kalimdor, 1 is eastern kingdoms, 1 burning crusade and 1 wrath.

@Kroanos: A Realm Blade is part of a blade server. The blade server houses several of the blades and provides the configuration and communicaton interfaces. The blade can't function by itself, it must be in a blade server. The blade server could have been, and most likely was, configured to combine all of the blades to make one massive virtualized powerhouse server by combining all of the processor power and memory available from all of the blades. The blades will serve as a wonderful peice of WoW history or possibly (they were pulled due to malfuntion) provide a couple of good processors and/or a decent amount of RAM. Helms off to Blizz for the Charity Auction!

From Make-a-Wish to Tsunami relief to St. Jude I think it shows that we do care for each other by supporting these organizations and it’s great that Blizz gives us the opportunity for us to do so. I will never hesitate in giving money to these noble deeds. I do love the in-game pets so you will always have my support. It is a win-win for everyone.

Hi everyone!

The only time that I buy any sort of in game item is when the proceeds go to some sort of charity.

The more Blizzard makes things this way, the more stuff my toons get. Thank you for doing things for charity.

@Arkanon: I think it would be cool if: a) They made amount with the St. Jude logo all over it for say $25 or b) for a month or two, all players game fee of $15 a month would go to St. Judes. Think about it. If 11mil people play wow X that by $15 dollers and you've just touched every persons heart in the world!!!! :)

My 2-month-old niece was just diagnosed with cancer at St. Jude, and my mother is there (who also plays) and was telling me less than an hour ago how wonderful they've been there, and how they haven't had to worry about money or anything other than my niece. I was very pleased to see this on the launcher page this morning. I've always been impressed with Blizzard's work with charity, but this hit really close to home for me. I'm with the others on the companion pets for charity. Everyone wants one, and most can more easily afford them. Either way, though, I like to see companies like this in leadership positions trying to help and "give back". We all know they have no obligation to do it, and as such, it is that much more appreciated. I know that I will never forget it. Thank you, Blizzard.

@Aelise:I am a survivor of Leukemia (A.L.L). I was at U. of Iowa City. My primary doctor was trained at St. Judes. I wouldn't be alive today if it were not for the wonderful doctors and nurses that took care of me. I have been donating to St. Judes and other cancer orgs. for many years and I thank all the others who do the same. Thank You WOW and all who help and donate.

My biggest excitement i cant wait to hear is, after the auctions are over, how much blizzard has raised for St. Jude. If all the server blades sold for at least 100$ they'd raise a good 80,000 easy. If Blizzard would release that info at the end that make my day seeing that i contributed to that amount :)

Make a pet for St. Jude Children's Hospital. I'd pay $25 for one, like Japan Tsunami pet. Thank you for doing this, giving useless gamers a way to feel productive. It is appreciated.

You can try to get the server running. If you put some time into it and had the massive computer they use to run those monsters... In my min dyou could get it to run but u may just find its a bunch of stuff that means nothing to you and its too fried to fix. Another thing with getting it to run is like would you know what to do if you got through all the hurdles of getting it back together again? Youd have to invest about a year into it honestly.
