Summer 2012 Blizzard Entertainment Internships

Summer 2012 Blizzard Entertainment Internships

What’s better than playing Blizzard games? Shaping them!

Blizzard Entertainment’s internship program is designed to give college students an opportunity to work directly with development teams and business operations departments to gain hands-on experience.

We have opportunities in departments throughout the company, including development, licensing, eSports, publishing, and quality assurance.

Internship Program At-A-Glance

  • Applicants must be currently studying at a university or college in the United States and planning to return to school in the fall of 2012 after the internship
  • 12-week paid opportunities during the summer
  • Located at Blizzard headquarters in Irvine, CA
  • Applications must be submitted no later than January 31, 2012

If you’re a student, or know of one who’d be interested, head on over to the Internships page to submit your application!

I'm just curious but is there any way that we can know if we did or did not get the internship? I know that the website said that the company will contact us, but if there is any way to get a confirmation on whether or not we did get the internship, I would really appreciate it! I don't want to wait around for a few months and then never hear from Blizzard. Even if I didn't get the position, some kind of acknowledgement would be wonderful.

here is an idea.
put together a package for a given area, has to be small as the wow
world is so big. this package would have all the tools available to
build the area into a playable system. have people submit their
designed levels -(this will showcase real talent) and hire them
note: i once designed 25 levels on DOOM as the original released
package had all the tools to design your own levels

So I'm sure this is going to be a stupid question, but I'm hoping a blue or someone who has dealt with this before would be able to answer it. There is a family trip coming up this summer that everyone wants me to attend, but by my count, it would be in week 6 or 7 of my internship if I get accepted. I have no issue not going on the trip is I get accepted for the internship, I'm just curious what are the chances of getting time off from one of these.

I love this idea blizzard! Its verry nice seeing you give people a chance to try their hand at a game they love so dearly. If you do this is the following years I myself might find myself applying. Though I agree with Senzu, it would be great if there was a "Learning the skills" type thing for us close to graduation to see if this would be a good career for us to major in. Thanks for giving this opportunity to those that are eligable, Im sure they'll have a great time! Good luck in getting in guys. :)

I feel petty for joining in this thread, But I can't stand bullies. That said for those of you over inflated !@#$%^-*!s uptight with the intern program please enjoy the following suppository. However, please note this is best taken with breast milk, or any usual source of underachiever comfort food you consume daily. It is recommended you change your diaper with use of this, or any other anal retentive related relief.
If you should experience inflated ego or swelling of the @#$%^-*!s commonly associated with post of rudeness, mood swings or other displays of infant development issues discontinue use and seek medical attention.
Adesixa is a common side effect of illiterate behavior associated with improper use of this medication and unfortunately can not be helped. Other users have experienced Iscarind a common state of confusion noted by babbling, incoherent sentence structure and abnormally unjustified high volumes of pride.
Comments and questions will be answered by the appropriate department. Please indicate if you are a first time user so we may better serve you and your needs. Complaints should contact customer service immediately through the use of yahoo services via extension beloved.fruitloop. Allow up to 12 hours for a reply and please be prepared for fowl language, questions related to IQ and possible forward of your issues to the main help center for mental retardation.
Product when used correctly will sooth irritation, and anal projectiles associated when confusion arises from limited understanding in the case you should complain about intern jobs while avoiding submitting a portfolio to the "correct department" in consideration for employment with blizzard. It is not recommended to mention this product once in the correct department or while on interview has it will not guarantee you a job. Thank you for using my opinion as the correct and always right way of life. Enjoy!

I'm very interested in joining the Story Developing department but I have a question: I am currently attending my final year in college in South Carolina. If I apply for the Story Developer internship, what would be my housing options?

@Adesixa - she is asking about the duration of the memberships, for when the 12 week period starts and ends. The dates formally. Not asking when the applications are due. Thanks - Arlenson

@Adesixa: If you were to actually comprehend my post, you'd realize that I meant when do the lucky chosen few actually start their internships, not the due date for the application. You clearly are more interested in trolling than actually being a helpful member of this online community.

@Iscarind While I agree with you as far as your content goes, before you go bad mouthing other people's sentence structure and grammatical shortcomings, you better check your own sentence structure and grammar. All you succeeded in doing is making yourself look like a fool.
