Coming in Patch 4.3.2 -- Cross-Realm Raids

We previously introduced the ability to form cross-realm parties with Real ID friends, and now with Patch 4.3.2, we're adding the ability for players to use that same functionality to form raids to run older normal or heroic raids, or participate in Battlegrounds!

This will allow you to join up with your Real ID friends from other realms and:

Form a cross-realm raid and use Raid Finder
Jump in to any classic dungeon or raid and be automatically placed in the same instance
Join forces and dominate the Battlegrounds

Please note, you will not yet be able to run normal or Heroic Dragon Soul with cross-realm Real ID raids.

As we look forward to the BattleTag system, it’s a very exciting time for World of Warcraft. No matter what realm you and your friends are on you’ll be able to team up and take on group content throughout the game.

I think the BOA'S should be cross any realm it is in fact bind on account is it not
not like its gonna get lost in the mail lmao!

Sounds like a win/win ! No longer need to be on same realm to raid. Larger guilds could basically have thopusands of guild members spread accross many realms lol

Tested it and it works very well. This is how it works , you invite your realID friends and form a raid group. You'll be not teleported to old raids , you'll have to go to the instance manually (they would have to do the same). If you have 'Have Group, Will Travel' (aka Mass Summon) , you may use it inside the instance and they will appear magically in the same place.

The beauty of this , for instance you want to do Firelands and you only have 5 people with you that is willing to do. You can invite your friend who is another realm and prob his guildies and together you guys can do Firelands and set your own loot rules.

For the people who don't know how this works: you don't queue for old instances. Let's say I make a part with someone from my realID who wants something from Karazhan. I walk into the Karazhan portal on my server, and she walks into the Karazhan portal on her server. Now we're both in the same instance despite being on separate realms. Pretty nifty.

I don't understand what "older" raids mean. Does that mean we can que up for "old" raids like Blackwing Lair or Black Temple?

Just tested this out, Cross-realm Raids do work, you invite a real ID friend, and either you summon him/her (mass summon dosnt work idk y) or they zone in the raid, it CAN be Classic, well, i tested kara and it worked, when they zone into the raid, its just like anyother raid they get a "would you like to save 4/11 bosses" so HAVE FUN!!

The Raid Finder still doesn't offer old raids; to get into one, you have to invite via RealID, and fly or be summoned.

frankly i LFR killed the game for me, the fun of seeing new content was the challenge of beating it in order to see it. Being able to experience new content with a group of random morons isn't my idea of fun

Agreed. I would LOVE to see 10 man LFR. My computer doesnt have the very best video card and sometimes has issues in 25 man content with all the spell effects, adds, and boss attack effect graphics.
