@Wrathstar: And I quote: ''Shrillwind: do you really want to think about about what hundreds of male lonely geeks would do if they had a figure of Jaina Proudmoore .... Im a guy and personal the idea scares me to no end''.

He makes a VERY good point.

As for why Mega Blocks over Lego arguement, it's obviously buisness. Lego is the bigger brand and likely would've wanted a larger share of the money. Mega Blocks likely just offered Blizzard a larger part of the profits. Though I would also like to think it is the figure part too, would really loose appeal having those little 1 inch tall guys looking like alliance or horde characters.

@Paddingtøn: I can agree that the quality of the BLOCKS themselves are subpar, but the one place where Megabrands succeeds OVER Lego is that the minifigures are not 4-piece articulations, they are actually micro-sized action figures boasting more articulation than most 3 3/4" Star Wars figures.

With the focus of WoW being the characters more than the settings I think they're making a logical choice.

@Demnevanni: And the brand name complaining continues. Seriously? I mean some people said "I thought these were Legos and I got really happy! Then I saw they were Mega Blocks and I got depressed!". Come on people. It's a BRAND NAME.

I've actually always liked Megabloks over Legos. They are always more detailed, you always get more pieces, the pieces are almost always more interesting, and they are cheaper by far.

I remember back in the day they used to sell those probuilders. 800-1500 pieces for only $20-$50. That was value : )

I am not crazy about them being MEGA-Bloxx, I got some of their Halo figures to check out the quality and use em in tabletop gaming. Guess what? There isn't any quality. They didn't even have full base colour paint coverage on a single bagged figure.

LEGO's like Harry Potter were expensive because of one thing only, just like Star Wars - Licensing Fees. I would rather have LEGO mini-figs that are still mini-figs but try to look something like our beloved factions - allow us to use our imagination just a bit - instead of a most likely fail attempt by MB.
Heck - I would even go with a Hero-clix version since they did do decent detail and scaling.
