I did not really like Velen's story at first because the idea pissed me off that there was some legitimisation in the idea that a mortal, human child could somehow be thought of as being more wise, more courageous than someone who is countless years old, has lived through everything, has escaped evil for millennia, and has done it all just for his people. Furthermore I really resent any kind of idea that Velen could somehow be thought of as being anything but courageous and ultimately wise beyond any of the inhabitants of Azeroth could possibly comprehend, least of all the crown prince of Stormwind....

Velen's story was supprisingly well done (like all the others). It's sad the Draenei and Blood Elves have been short changed in game as far as lore goes and seam to be stuck in BC mode.

I feel shortchanged. Why no Thrall Story? I realize Garrosh is the current Warchief but Thrall is and will always be the rightful leader of the Horde collective. So, again, I ask, Why no Thrall story?

@Ankole: Well, one of the reasons is because Thrall already have his own books. There is just so much lore on Thrall already and Blizz just decided that the others need a bit of lime light too.

I mostly play Alliance, i hope after Garrosh bites dust, Vol Jin takes over as Warchief, after Thrall hes the only sensible, wise and experienced figure on horde, my 3rd favorite after Saurfang Sr and Thrall.

@Eliteofelves: Both Saurfangs died though. I doubt Thrall will retake the throne being that he is the aspect of earth now. Vol'jin would make an excellent leader and probly lead the horde to victory. It would also be interesting if Vol'jin and Varian had a 1v1 and Varian got defeated and Anduinn took the throne of Stormwind.

@Sabenn: What? Varok Saurfang, the cleave beast, is still alive. In the lore, he is tired of Garrosh's hotbloodedness and remained in Northrend as part of the Horde's skeleton crew. He'll end up keeping his word and killing Garrosh for trying to take the Horde down the demonic path again.

Great job Blizz! I liked all of them and while some were better than others, all were good :) You should start making other leader's stories, like Tirion Fordring, Mograine, perhaps Trollbane, and the other leaders of Azeroth

@Malanis: All written in clipped paragraphs, swooshing battle scenes, and overpacked attempts at characterization. It's doing too many things at once, and none of them effectively.
Just ain't fun, man.

the real title is "Alliance/Horde Leaders of Azeroth". I mean, how could the forget Tirion fordring and the Argent Crusade? What about Morgraine and the Ebon Blade DK's? And what's new with Kaghdar in Shattarah? i seriously hope this continues and we get to learn what's new for the faction leaders outside the Alliance and the Horde.

We all know Malfurion has been the real leader of the NE's since the War of the Ancients anyway.
