Announcing: Tides of War by Christie Golden

The next pivotal novel in the unfolding Warcraft saga is now available for pre-order! Written by fan favorite New York Times bestselling author, Christie Golden, Tides of War raises the stakes between the Alliance and Horde and sets the stage for World of Warcraft’s newest game expansion, Mists of Pandaria. We are also proud to reveal the stunning cover art by Glenn Rane.

About World of Warcraft: Tides of War:

The renowned sorceress Jaina Proudmoore has long struggled to maintain a lasting peace between the Alliance and horde.

But now, as mounting tensions threaten to ignite a new era of conflict, her hopes for peace could be extinguished forever...

Warchief Garrosh, obsessed with assuring the Horde’s supremacy over Kalimdor, launches an all-out attack against Jaina's island home of Theramore. Though the valiant Alliance defenders rush to repel the sudden onslaught, they’ll soon find themselves unprepared for the terrible scope of Garrosh's true plans…

The destruction wrought by the Horde’s brazen attack irrevocably transforms Jaina, propelling the kindhearted diplomat down a path of grief and vengeance that will alter not only her destiny – but the destiny of Azeroth itself.

Finally! Jaina Proudmoore needs more of a spotlight instead of just sitting in Theramore 24/7, forgotten by the general populace.

@Havus: @Waylord: its true, the before and after will be in book form, but even if it was in-game it'd just be 2 hours worth of in-game text. the juicy part, the actual battle of theramore, and the events that transpire to transform jaina, and i suppose her transformation itself, WILL be in-game in the form of patch 5.0 and a senerio called ,"battle for theramore isle."

@Solodat: Not so much, although some of them connect to each other. The ones in a series are generally sold together in large collections, like War of the Ancients was.

Confused as to why the release date in this post is vague ("Late August 2012"). According to Simon & Schuster, the date is August 28 - and has been for months. Is this no longer the case?
