Latin American Editors Wanted!

Latin American Editors Wanted!

The Blizzard Web Team comprises artists, writers, and engineers. They help build and maintain the websites that form Blizzard's online presence, such as the website you're on right now. They're driven by a deeply-rooted passion for games and online culture, and if you share this passion, there may be a job for you with our Web Team.

We're hiring two additional editors to help support our growing audience in Latin America. Specifically, we're looking for a native Portuguese speaker and a native Spanish speaker to join our existing Latin American editors*. Your job will be to help us translate and create new website content for players in Latin American countries, including new game guide updates, account management website features, feature previews, and much more.

If you have exceptional language skills in both Portuguese or Spanish and English, a passion for videogames, web publishing experience, a well-developed sense of adventure, and the desire to be part of a creative team in a fast-paced work environment, then we would love to hear from you.

Check out the job descriptions now:

*Must be a US resident and/or authorized to work in the United States.

I think most people on this thread are missing the "web publishing experience" part.

They should just fix the raids, so the game keeps track of what the person que'd as. If the que as tank they must have 1. correct spec, 2. certain amount of "tank" gear, 3. If they change specs after joining raid/dungeon (KICK) don't give time to think just (kick) everyone agrees. Blizzard you know this !@#$ is annoying!! That should be rule to play for any spec. We all DEMAND THIS!!!

Maybe you can hire a Portuguese speaker to explain the difference between Greed and Need and that if you queue as DPS then you better have a dps spec and turn off Righteous Fury / Blood Pres.
I swear they need to put in an extra tutorial at the beginning of the game that the players HAVE to complete before they can play.

@Rugard"That's excelent, because the Latin American version Sucks, and I must insist, it realy SUCKS, not only in traslation (and a poor adaptation), also dub on cinematics, and ¿What the hell with characters names? The name of People and Places, they should not change, If im Paul here, I will be Paul in the whole world.
Great idea, and congratulations for this, I look forward the results =)"
Fixed what i could lol, i feel like u man, but i don`t think that a few extra translaters are going to change the latin version that mutch. Ther is also no way to fix the cinematics and audios for all latin america, ther is always the mexican/argentinien etc. sound the rest of the countrys don`t like to listen. For US audience imagine Thrall talking in a strong Texas slag or something like that rofl

@Darkenergy: maybe if they get more Latino native-speakers in, they can advise on this. I mean the Blizz staff just don't know, they aren't doing it on purpose. You can have them redo all the nobles with Cuban accents, etc ;)

Ah, as a Salvadorean-born Spanish speaker living in the United States with a passion for writing, I'd relish the opportunity to try and get into this job. I've been playing Blizzard games since Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and remain to this day a loyal follower through thick and thin. I'll apply for this as soon as I get my resume together!

@Mexipaladin:

Fluent in English writing involves capitals where needed. If you're trying to get a job as a translator you want to perfect both. Most companies will not hire someone who makes them look like they skimmed for below high school writing skills. Brush up on it if you are serious.
