This is the ONLY game I play that does NOT have this option already... HOW LONG has wow been out????

I really think this is total BS- I even submitted a ticket for it... I almost want to advocate everyone submitting a ticket every patch Tuesday that this does not happen.

If you are going to require online connection to play, then you need to make it so we can be private. This is no unreasonable.

As of now Blizz is basically saying if you want to appear offline, then make yourself guildless, and friendless. They are advocates for isolation?! I thought being a total nerd was isolating enough o.O .

The entire world is not on board with the 'let's be online and reachable ALL THE TIME philosophy'... Let us have some inkling of privacy for christs sake...

You used to have this available... We used to be able to block authentication port... My assumption is that there is/was some exploit that this needed to be corrected for, but in correcting that did you not think through that some people do it so they can be left alone?!

It's amazing to me that a top development company can't figure out how to implement this within a week, or how they didn't have the foresight to implement it when they released it. Maybe it's time to clean house and get some BA's and DEV's who can fix this ASAP...

The least you could do is respond with a public statement as to what efforts you're making, and why it is impractical to have this in place now (aside from the "well we're thinking about it dur dur dur")

Would really be great to have this... Sometimes, I just want to log in, do my dailies and not have to deal with people (yes, even my friends). Please implement soon! <3

I'm a day late this month. Yeah that's right, it's been another month -> 7 and counting. Enough said.

This needs to hurry! I dislike spamming people with toon jumping... it makes me feel bad. :(

LOL! "months" turn to "years" in no time here, and it still won't be released. This is going to be EXACTLY like the "Warcraft Movie". Tired of waiting, so I'm just sticking to my port closer :) a temporary port denial will fix this any day and it's easy too :)

This would be a nice feature to have. Sometimes I'd just like to relax and play without being bothered by constant whispers, (because apparently some people still don't understand what dnd means), and I hate being rude and ignoring them.
Maybe this could be added to the game soon? It would be a very handy feature to have.

Ugh, can't believe it still isn't implemented! There have been several occasions (like right now) when I have chosen to not play simply because I don't want to run into Real ID folk that I would rather remove all together, but don't want to hurt their feelings and cause drama between our mutual friends.

I hope that you have the option to set your online status per friend or everyone. Similar to blocking, but they aren't removed from your list. I don't want to ignore everyone.

April already?

They are really outdoing themselves with the whole "Soon" thing, that's for sure!

Time for the regular monthly post. It has now been 6 months... and we're all still waiting... other things are announced this far in advance, but usually you talk about it a little (or in most cases a LOT) in between. Give us something, please. A simple sentence would be worth a lot.

Yeah, Milknwaffles had a nice post for blocking battle.net and such, but that doesn't help when it comes to guildies, at least from what I've seen. So people like Darkwidow are still outa luck, and I expect that applies to most of us. Came close to giving myself away once :S

So Blizz, tear yourself away from watching over your newly hatched Zerg brood and make this quick fix, would ya?

I seriously don't understand why this wasn't an option to begin with. Heck, even old school AOL let you appear offline to avoid talking to people when you didn't want to and that was nearly 20 years ago. I like keeping in contact with my family but they don't need to be watching my every move.

Thanks to Milknwaffles for the firewall info. Now I just have to wait until I'm back in my own house to do it.

lol was looking up if blizz finally made this thing, so I can stop using firewall to be appear offline.
Just a quick guide for you nerds out there.
1. Open up firewall
2. Additional options
3. Rules for outgoing
4. Create rule (name it w/e you want, I used "battle.net")
4.1 Block TCP port 1119
4.2 Keep clicking next and sh*t
5. Now in the list of outgoing, you will see this rule first.
6. Right click - options
7. Take the mark OFF "Turned on" -> press accept (or w/e it is in english, the button to the right from "cancel"
8. Open WoW. Log in so you can see all your characters.
9. Go back to firewall options of the rule we made, now put the mark ON "Turned ON". Accept.
10. Log your character. You will have Battle.net service unvailable.
P.S. You CANT have the rule on, before logging into wow, since it wont let you login. You have to enable it once you can see your characters.
Next time you want to play, do the steps 1-3 and 7-10. Enjoy.

Would be great if this was added in an upcoming maintenance of 5.2...

It's Blizzards keyword "soon", meaning it may not come before the end of time. It would be awesome to see this added soon. I need to get rid of all my stalkers ;)

There is no mention of this coming in the next patch... jesus blizzard, add it already!

Please let this come soon.....I mean it would be cool if it was updated along with the upcoming patch :P

Hmm, they said after each games Xpacs release would this come out. Even though I'm annoyed that its gone this long unnoticed, maybe we'll see this implemented around the time HoTS comes out?

Congratulations, it has now been 5 months since this feature was announced, and there has yet to be another word from Blizzard about it. This has to be some kind of record...

When an employee does not do what is requested or promised, they can be let go. When a business, whether it is a restaurant or retail store, does not do what is requested or promised, one ceases to be a patron there.

Right now, I am cancelling my monthly subscription renewal until this is implemented.

Come on, Blizz. Clean out the Santorum and implement this, please! We've been waiting so long!
