AoE Graphic problem

80 Undead Warrior
when i have the following line in my file, the problem doesn't happen.
SET gxApi "opengl"

without the above, whenever some player cast a ground AoE spell
the graphic of the AoE spells appear to be on a top layer over player characters.
all player characters are being "covered" by the spells.

For example DK's D&D..
when i have the camera angle set to low and zoom in, there's no problem
however when i zoom out a bit, and set camera angle higher...
the AoE spell effect looks like it floating above players head.

please advice whether it's a known issue and Blizzard is trying to fix them,
or is it my setting problem?

Try turning down your Particle Density on the Video settings. That's going to have an impact on these effects, and it should help with the issue.

i've noticed this bug as well, a mage spamming arcane epslotion near an NPC made that npc untargetable through arcane explosion spell animation. i haven't found any actual work around for it. turning settingds down may help, by making affect smaller, but it won't fix the inherent problem.

Agreed, but it'll help in the meanwhile, yes?

I will have this issue looked into, thanks for the reports and screen shots. I know we are still tweaking some of the graphics settings so this may be a part of whats being tweaked. I will try to update when I find out more.
