first off <3 Nysem (this is Arisechicken)
It can be 4 ticks, but not as a result of the caster's spell haste which was what I had intended to say. If that were the case then I could have a Mind Flay with 5 ticks, four from one mind flay and one more that was from the previous cast.
Thats just it though, they are ticking for around 3342 (with ES up) then volcano/enchants proc and they instantly bump on their next tick to 5400-7200(depending on dot), WITHOUT reapplying them, as for the ticks, i can only track the ticks accurately with large bonuses from things like blood lust and power infuse, but they ARE ticking considerably faster(up to 1 sec faster) without refreshing, except SW:P I notice it needs to be refreshed by mindflay to gain from haste, but DP, VT, Mindflay, and Holy fire all appear(as in are) updating dynamically as of the current patch/fix. Perhaps your addons are not tracking this appropriately? but my basic math/timed counting skills shows these results :C
I use the addons (Aka Power Auras) to display tenths and hundredths of seconds on my dot timers. Other than that I've been using my combat logs to look at damage values. While I don't currently have a Heroism/Time Warp or a massive casting speed slow to play with, VT, DP, and Mind Flay's tick values are not changing when my spell power changes until I reapply them as usual.
Divine Aegis: Includes overhealing and has a cap of 40% of the casting priest's health. Multiple priests with Divine Aegis create their own separate Divine Aegis effects when applied to the same target. Prayer of Healing criticals cause 60% of the healing done as Divine Aegis instead of 30%.
Really? I think you've gotten your semantics a bit wrong? Yes, it is 60% of a normal PoH if the PoH crits, however its still 30% of that particular PoH.
I'm secretly hoping your correct and I'm wrong, because a crit PoH for 4x the Divine agis of a normal PoH would be mint.
It is 60% of that particular PoH, not 30%. Divine Aegis was changed in 4.0.6 to double dip when PoH crits. I tried my best to word it so that it didn't cause any confusion, but it's understandable.
Using some unrealistic but easier numbers as an example, if I hit a PoH for 10k it will create a 3k shield, where as a 20k crit will create a 12k shield instead of 6k. Also I apologize for a late response. :(
In other news, I might have totally forgot to update spell power coefficients for 4.2. Sorry to all you shadow priests out there!
I'm sorry to bother you, but my friend has been trying to get the fourth Lightwell tick. Does the Lightwell not benefit from the Darkness Talent or the 5% haste raid buff?
Lightwell still only benefits from your haste rating and nothing else, so 5% haste, Darkness, and any other effect that increases casting speed/spell haste will have no effect on Lightwell's ticks.

I've been following this shadow priest guide gear list through regs-FL
howtopreist.com and guildOx .every peice of gear told me what to reforge or not to reforge and what to enchant what.
I've also used a VERY good table for shadow priest gear cause the amount of gear was very sketchy to me plus my DPS was 9-10k in reg before hitting 85
but with my current 359 ilvl my haste is 14.58% and i've been searching EVERYWHERE for someone to actually clarify how much you need with what ilvl you currently have/
also my haste goes up to 30% in raids (which i hope is a good thing!)
and my DPS is 11-16k
every now and then it'll go up to 30k if mobs are swarming the tank and i just mind sear the crap out of them.
but I would like to know if there's something i'm doing wrong cause the sites i'm basing my character off of (and refelecting) it seems legit but also to good to be true.
I also follow their rotations and have to many Spriest addons
help me please!

A lot of help for a newbie! Thank you!
But would an abbreviated version be possible? Like a reference guide? Just a short page containing things like what stats to go for, good spell rotations, gear, etc? Because the entire guide was almost tl;dr. Or is one already made?

These things are covered elsewhere, or at least they were at the beginning of Cataclysm. The reason guides are extensive is because you can't lay out one simple rule for how to play or gear. They also focus on healing at level 85 for obvious reasons, because there isn't much to do for low level healing.
Spell usage and Cataclysm 5 mans: http://priestitforward.wordpress.com/2011/08/04/disc-dungeons/
Gearing guidelines: http://priestitforward.wordpress.com/2011/07/18/discipline-geg/
^ For a fresh 85, I wouldn't worry about haste just yet.
Spell Power coefficients are updated, though none of them have actually changed.
Also added that part about Holy Word: Sanctuary's mana cost being reduced by our passives that reduce the mana cost of instant cast spells.

Hail Nysem, I would love to know how much is the "best" coeficient of Haste(raid buffed) for great dps, to start geting some crit or mastery extra, like "go for 25% haste on raid and after that point get some crit/mastery"
Do you have that number?? It will help alot, and after that, what stats should I use crit or mastery??
tks any way
ps.: I'm Shadow

Hi. The thread is now up to date for MoP. Some important things:
- Spell resistance is no longer a mechanic in the game, as such neither is spell penetration. Not that it was ever particularly relevant to gameplay, but there are less needlessly complicated formulas to try and understand. I've managed to cut out an entire post of content removing things that are no longer in the game, so I'm thinking more about new things to add.
- Due to things changing so much within the beta, I didn't feel that it was worthwhile to bother with spell power coefficients, or base values, until 5.0.4 went live. I'll get around to these, especially now that summer is winding down for me.
- Some damage and healing modifiers have been cut out of the game while new ones have appeared. I'm not quite sure what is multiplicative and what is additive quite yet, but the answers to those questions will appear after I've been able to confirm for myself.
- The transition to MoP will continue to be work in progress because things are very much subject to change, and so...
- Suggestions are welcome. For example, a friend mentioned the druid ability Symbiosis and what we gain from this.
