Not using the resources you have at hand is either stupid or you're trying for a challenge. Either way 5% XP is maybe an hour headstart, those who beat you filled their quest logs with quests and turned in them at launch for about 30% of a level which gives them another hour. The cumulative effects of preparation is what gave them the edge and which gave Xirsch the lead over everyone.
Note: I said I did that.
5% is quite a bit, it adds up pretty damn quick. I love how you assume I didn't prep, my char was sitting next to the Daily turn in guys, I had my bags emptied and ready to rock. Turn in Hodir, Tabard hearth to Argent to turn in, 310% flight to Dal to turn in, Hearth stone to SW to turn in, FM trainer, go to Hyjal, all that takes 6 minutes. Trust me, I knew what I was doing. However, I didn't know you could bypass the system and get Guild rank 2 the first day, when it was expected to take more since it was capped at 38% a day.
And not using unintended mechinics (Blizzards terms) is not stupid, it's how you play the game.
Anyway, what's done is done, good game, good job.
Love your name btw (Not sarcasm at all)

They hit it the first day a few hours in, which is what I was talking about.
